SLC33-W1: My Community, My Story – A Need to Know Place Around Me
Hello friends, I hope you are all well. For the first week of the Steemit Challenge contest, I will be sharing visit to a market. I would like to thank the organizers of this challenge, and without further delay, I am starting my participation.

What is the name of the place, community, and where is it located? Share the address information of the place also.
This place is Riaz Uddin Bazar, specifically the grocery and fresh produce market alley. Riaz Uddin Bazar is the largest wholesale market in Chattogram city, where retailers come to buy goods in bulk to resell in their local areas. This is just one part of the market; all in all, it spans a massive area.

The market is located in the New Market Station Road area, and people recognize the surrounding neighborhood by the name of this market itself. It is so large that the main roads from four directions converge around different sides of the bazar. In other words, there are several main roads to enter this market, but I am specifically reviewing the grocery section.

Why do you think this place you have visited is a need-to-know place in your community?
Riaz Uddin Bazar is definitely a must-know place for the people of my community because it is the biggest wholesale market in our city. Anyone living in the Chattogram division has to visit this market at least once in their life because it is a wholesale hub for everything where you can find absolutely anything.

Although it is called a "bazar" (market), it has separate wholesale sections for groceries, fresh produce, fish, crockery, electronics, home appliances, home decor, and everything else a person might need. That is why business owners know this market so well, as they must come here to purchase goods for their shops or businesses.

What services or activities are the people in your community or visitors enjoying or having access to at the place?
People from my community visit this place for shopping and Purchasing. People travel from the remote areas of Chattogram just to shop here. Whenever the topic of a wholesale market comes up, the only name on everyone’s lips is Riaz Uddin Bazar. It stays bustling with people 24 hours a day, day and night.
In particular, certain traditional items for life's special moments, like weddings, can only be found here. A wedding requires a lot of things, and from start to finish, all the necessary items for various wedding ceremonies are available here, which is why everyone has to visit at least once.
What do you find most attractive or interesting during your visit to the place?
Whenever I visit this place, the most interesting thing to me is that the first fruits of any season always appear here first. Furthermore, whether it is groceries, vegetables, or fruits, items that are unavailable in my local area market are first seen and available only in this bazar.

No matter how many times I visit, I always enter through the grocery alley because the sellers arrange their fruits, vegetables, and grocery items so beautifully and colorfully, which I love to look at. Although the grocery alley is a bit dirtier compared to other sections, I still find these small shops very interesting to look at.

Share a brief story that you know about the place you have visited.
To share a story about this bazar, every seller wishes to own even a tiny shop here because countless buyers from different divisions come here to shop wholesale or retail. Although the shops look small, one has to pay a massive amount of deposit money to the owners' association to secure a shop here. From what I have heard, the deposit money required for a small shop in this bazar is even higher than what it costs to open a brand shop in a flagship shopping mall.

Based on your story and community lifestyle, would you recommend this place to visitors? Why or why not?
Yes, I will definitely recommend this bazar to the people of my community, and I am sure that almost everyone in the community already knows about it and has visited at least once. We often need things that are only available here, and for businessmen who need to buy wholesale goods, it can be called a second home. Therefore, I highly recommend it for purchasing any wholesale goods.

I am happy to see a busy market like "Riaz Uddin Bazaar Grocery Road, Chittagong" in your town. This shows how commercial activities are carried out in your town. Being in a business environment where people usually come in crowds to buy things is usually difficult for small traders to get a rented shop, as most of the time, prices of renting a single shop are usually placed higher.
