SLC33-W5: My Community, My Story – Festivals, Culture & Traditions
Assalamu Alaikum/Adab my friend of Steemit community, I am @kibreay001 speaking from Bangladesh
Hello all my steemit friends, I hope you are all doing well. Today I am going to share with you that @josepha bhai has organized a wonderful competition on the occasion of steemit challenge season 33 week 5. I have come to participate in his shared competition today. The main topic of the competition is any festival and event. So today I have come to participate in the competition with some pictures of my friend's wedding ceremony. A few days ago, my friend got married, we had a lot of fun with our friends, in fact, our college friend invited almost a few of our boy friends and a few of our girl friends. We were there with our friend two days before the wedding and we all had a great time together.
What is the name of the culture, festival, or tradition that is celebrated in your community? Tell us where it usually takes place and share the Google Map, Steematlas, and Google Plus location.
The festival-centric post that I am going to discuss with you today is a wedding ceremony. Actually, on the day before the wedding ceremony, a ceremony of feeding turmeric and kheer is held at a girl's house according to our Bangladeshi tradition, and very close people from the girl's family are present at these ceremonies. Since the girl was our friend, many of us, friends and girlfriends, were present on behalf of the girl. First, the turmeric ceremony was held in the evening, where we were painting each other's hands with colors and different kinds of things. The joys of this Holi will never end because the joy of every person is hidden inside every person, when it is revealed, it is the most memorable in life. I will share all the details below the post, including the link to the Google Map of the place where this ceremony took place.
In your community, why is this festival or tradition important to your community?
In our area, wedding ceremonies are very important in the life of every person because wedding ceremonies are organized to bond with each other. In fact, whenever a marriage is arranged with the consent of both the boy and the girl, it is announced through a ceremony and handed over to each other. Just the night before this wedding ceremony, when the kheer ceremony was organized at the girl's house, I was present there myself and collected pictures very beautifully. First, the girl's uncle fed the girl kheer, in fact, we were all enjoying those scenes together and there was a dance ceremony to the tune of the box and songs. Overall, there was a wonderful atmosphere there. After that, the girl's friends and family were there, they were celebrating the day with joy and various types of dance songs. Overall, my friend's wedding was quite memorable for me.
What activities do they like: music, dance, food, ritual, clothing, etc.
When we, all our friends, were feeding our girlfriend kheer and singing and dancing to the tunes of the song, we were really celebrating the day in the morning. In fact, we liked the day the most. We were all dressed in new clothes and everyone was dressed in the same type of clothes. We were celebrating the joy through dancing and singing. Also, on behalf of the girl's family, we sat the girl's brothers and parents together in one place and were all together at the event. In fact, we all celebrated the day together from evening to the end of the night. In fact, such memorable moments and days of celebration are really important for every family because when a girl from a family is handed over to another boy, that family is always sad, but we should try to spend that day in a beautiful way with friends and everyone, then it will be filled with joy.
Tell us what you enjoy the most about the tradition or celebration
The most celebrated thing at a wedding is joy. In fact, when all of us friends were getting ready for my girlfriend's wedding ceremony and we were all conducting the kheer ceremony of my girlfriend together, all these ceremonies were the most joyful and memorable moments for me. In fact, we were all celebrating the day and enjoying it very beautifully. When we, as friends, were sitting at one table to eat together at my girlfriend's wedding, we were all looking at each other and when all the friends were feeding us, that moment was one of the happiest moments for us because these moments will never be erased from the memories of life. These memories will remain with every person. In this way, we had a lot of fun at the turmeric and kheer ceremony of my girlfriend's wedding.
Share with us how it brings people together in your community, and tell us if you would recommend visitors experience it and why?
Everyone in our area can enjoy such moments of joy and celebration centered around a girl's wedding. On the morning of the wedding day, when we, friends and girlfriends, were waiting for the groom, my girlfriends were standing in line, if you look closely, you will see. Then, during the night of the Gaye Halude ceremony, I had two videos from which I have shared two videos with you, there was the Gaye Halude ceremony and then there was the Kheer feeding ceremony. Actually, at the Kheer feeding ceremony, we, friends and girlfriends, were all dressed in the same saree and Punjabi. Then my girlfriends performed a very beautiful Nitya, there were numerous visitors who came to watch, in fact, this is how people were invited to watch the ceremony and the ceremony ended with various types of dance songs. Overall, there were some wonderful moments at the girlfriend's wedding. I hope you all like it, thank you all.

Review:
Marriage, especially a traditional wedding, is often cherished by the bride's family, as it is usually when a woman is given away to her husband. Your country's traditional marriage is similar to that in Africa, especially Nigeria. The couple looks very happy, and best of luck to them.
