Quick stop on the South East side of Lake Ronkonkoma to get a few pictures. Got a few minutes to kill waiting for a Lasagna I ordered on the North West side.

We were told as kids that Ronkonkoma (Indian name) meant Glittering white sands. The best sands are right here on the South East side. My theory is the North West winds drove the sand to the opposite corner.

Lake Ronkonkoma is the largest fresh water lake on Long Island, NY and sits right in the middle of the island. It is 243 acres in size. It is also shaped in the form of a human skull.

That is a pretty white sand beach. Now I am hungry for lasagna. Wait...I thought lasagna night was on Fridays. : )
