I simply do not care about the UFO talk going on now

in #news23 days ago

Is the media bored and needs more controversy outside of simply focusing on Trump all the time? Are they unhappy that MTG stopped being relevant. Have the run out of time to spend on crazy Mark Ruffalo and Robert DeNiro? Has Rosie O'donnel just accepted the fact that she is irrelevant these days no matter what European country she flees to?

The news is at an all time ridiculous these days, at least in my lifetime, and I miss the days of getting the paper in the morning in New Bern, North Carolina where they only had a few actual journalists on staff and got most of their national and international stories by I guess paying a fee to much larger big-city publications. Instead of having thousands of stories per minute to pick through, we had 20 pages that covered all manner of things and of course the stock page.

Can you imagine that there was a time when people checked stock prices just ONCE a day?

The amount of information that we have access to these days is just too overwhelming and I think it was wise for me to just bow out. I no longer really have any idea what is going on in the world but every now and then I take a peek when I have done all really useful things in my life already. one thing that pops up every now and then are these stories about extra-terrestrial life and how the government has proof of it.

people that spend entirely too much of their lives being concerned about politics will say things like "it's just a coverup for the "war in Iran"" or "They are trying to distract you from the Epstein files!" or something similar to that which they were taught to say like good little parrots by whatever their social media of choice is.

For me, I think I have been so traumatized by the constant bombardment of propaganda that these claims of UFO's could be 100% true and I still wouldn't care.

Apparently there is video and all sorts of things that have been declassified by the CIA or Navy or whoever, and honestly, I think that a majority of people have gotten the news cycle beatdown for so long that they could have a news conference with an actual alien and not very many people would care.

I can't be the only person out there that has just been beaten into submission by the overzealous people involved in the news and especially anything related to politics. Hell, even sports pundits annoy me these days because instead of just watching a game and having someone really knowledgeable like John Madden draw on the screen and explain plays we now have a roundtable for several hours that go through every minute detail of everything to the point where I no longer care about sports anymore. Don't get me started on the fact that we now apparently have to have a certain number of women authoritative experts on the panel as well even though they have never played the sport and would get broken into pieces if they ever tried.

The news charlatans have turned me off to even attempting to stay up to speed on what is going on in the world and while that might make me uninformed I don't believe that the people who "do research" every day are any better informed than I am. The psychologists have figured out what works on people and I'll be damned if there are basically zero free thinkers out there anymore, it's just people repeating what they heard on whatever show they already agree with. Conservatives annoy me just as much as liberals on this even though I am far more conservative than I am liberal.

Are UFO's real? I am one of those people that believes there absolutely must be life on other planets given the infinite nature of space. It is likely so unimaginably far away from us that we are never going to meet one another though.

So the UFO business can kiss my ass just like the stuff about all the politicians and military "experts." If you need me I'll be at my job doing Sudoku in my spare time and also working on my garden. It's spring after all.
