At least Conservative Brief's slop news is more obvious these days

There are several "gotcha" news organizations that I truly loathe and Conservative Brief is one of them. Virtually everything they publish on their various aggregates are intended to be deceptive and will often utilize pictures that aren't really even related to what they are talking about in the linked article because they want more eyes on it.

For me I don't understand why they bother because if you do click on the link you quickly realize that they are full of crap and since they aren't even charging anything or even attempting to have a paywall, I don't really understand that the point is. Maybe there are popups and I just don't know about them because of my security settings.

About a week ago they changed their aggregate format so that the truly clickbait fake news is easily identified and for people like me, simply skipped.

Now if you happen to encounter their links on any aggregate they have the same form of picture with a bit of text and that is it. No drawn out explanation below the picture, just something like the above for 80% of all they offer in their "roundup of the daily news."

Of course all of these, if you click on the actual article will often not have a great deal to do with the people in the picture and if they do, it isn't as big of a deal as the very short intro would have you believe.

These descriptions are often very vague but for people like me now at least I can determine just by scrolling and not even reading where the real horse-manure articles are going to be.

The articles that Conservative Brief actually writes are not much better, but at least you can get rid of the true slop without even bothering to read it.

I think not bothering to read almost anything that Conservative Brief puts out there would probably be the best thing for a person to do anyway since they are definitely partisan, extremely tricky when the mix opinion with facts, and are the very definition of "fake news." It's funny how Conservatives will never call out this group when making a reference to that sort of thing, isn't it?

Some could turn this into a chicken/egg situation and say that perhaps Conservative Brief wouldn't exist if liberal outlets hadn't done it first but I don't think that is a fair evaluation of the situation. Someone, somewhere, found out that gross exaggeration of an actual news story will get more eyes on a story than a truly unbiased one and well, that is a sign of the times and a very unfortunate one at that.

People like to see news that agrees with their already pre-conceived notions and biases, and that is why NY Times readers are almost exclusively liberal and Fox followers are almost entirely conservative.

There is no real news anymore. The few that do exist such as The Economist are basically ignored by the media world and I'm afraid that we, the consumers, are probably stuck in this cycle until the end of time.

If people out there cannot see this by now I'm afraid they are beyond repair.
