This is beautiful @lillywilton , I heard this one first on the radio show and had to come here to give it a second listen ( and third ..and... ) . I'm not the biggest ukelele fan BUT it worked perfectly for this song , I can't imagine it better accompanied with another instrument , it adds a little touch of ''innocence'' that I like as a contrast to your lyrics .

" I eat poison now for breakfast.
But sometimes bagels suit me, too.
I try to put it down, then I hear you coming round...
And poison seems to soothe. "

I love the language simplicity in general but there is a little ''extra bite'' along those lines... love it .

Also, the harmony you proposed here gives it a little bit of an old school vibe , some harmony that might have been used around the 60s , those little chord movements , I believe those could have been picked up from older soundtracks , along the lines of ''When you wish upon a star'' or ''Someday my Prince will come''. ;) I'm a fan of those tunes btw .

Thank you for sharing , hope to listen to more of your music soon :) !

Ohmygod @pechichemena. That means the world to read that commentary from you. Thank you so much for including those details of how you interpreted the song. It’s super cool to read that from another artist! ❤️ Thank you for making my day a little better.

You're like three for three on the 'killing it' ratio. 🤘

The meltdown is coming soon, I promise. Everyone prepare yourselves for 2007 level Britney with the umbrella.

Haha hey bald might suit you. Never know.

You have a beautiful voice and this song totally broke my heart listening to it. I could really feel the emotion like you were begging someone to stay or to care. Wow! All up in my feelings right now... way to go!

Thank you so much @socent ❤️I'm so glad to be able to get all up in your feelings 😝Haha! I love that phrase.

You are most welcome! It is a great phrase that should be used more often lol.

Beautiful, Lilly.

Your lovely voice is well-suited to the ukulele. I also appreciate the simplicity of the lyrics – they convey a sentiment I'm sure everyone who's ever loved and lost can relate to, in uncomplicated, easy to listen to phrasing.

We can never have too many songs for the broken-hearted.

Thank you so much @zipporah ❤️And oof. We can never have too many songs for the broken-hearted That's so real it hurts. Thank you for your amazingly kind words and wonderful photo to boot.

Loved the pause effect you describe... It works well exactly as intended... And, yes, I for one would love some behind-the-song insights... Lovely song and performance, Lilly... You're on fire girlfriend! ;-)

Absolutely beautiful. I enjoy reading your commentary on the use of the ukulele and wonky lyrics too! I think it’s put me in a mood to listen to some Amanda Palmer, (after giving your track a few repeats naturally!)

Thank you so much @bryan-imhoff. And yes! Love me some Amanda Palmer. ❤️
