Upvotebuilders – Special Update
Hey UpvoteBuilders,
I would like to thank every member of this community for their continuous support, assistance and help in helping to grow it to where it is today. Without your help we wouldn’t be where we are today, 90 members and still counting, almost 20k SP and still growing, you all make it what it has become and again I thank you for everything you have done to help us grow.
Upcoming HF21
The management of Steem blockchain has finally announced a date for HF21 to happen through this post offer here, the date mentioned was 27th of August, 2019, how solid that date is, is what we just have to wait and see. In the mean time how does HF21 affect us as a community?
• We are not a bid bot that’s for sure as members don’t pay to get upvotes but rather receive upvotes based on their delegation to the community.
• Reporting about our status is the much we do when it comes to content creation so the 1 minute curation window is what we will look at adjusting when the time comes.
• We don’t envisage a situation where we would downvote any member of our community or other members of the blockchain as that was not part of the plan when I was soliciting for your SP delegation.
• 50/50 curation which for individuals has been the main talking point as it is seen as reducing the rewards for content creators from 75% to 50%. For us as community it will double our rewards from 25% to 50%.
• Competition for SP Delegation – With the increase of curation from 25% to 50% users will be looking at what offers them the best returns for their SP, in light of this some changes have to be made to make @upvotebuilders still attractive to members who want to delegate their SP for upvotes and interest.
Steem-Engine Token / SMT
Steem-Engine came to the rescue when SMT was taking too long to come to reality. For been active on the blockchain and having SP we received the claimdrop from PAL, we staked our PAL and have been receiving a lot of the different tribe tokens and I have been staking the stake-able ones so that we are able to receive more of it by curation rewards and also reward members via the upvotes we give to them based on their membership level.

Upvotebuilders Steem-Engine Balance
As you can see from the balances on @upvotebuilders and @ub-sub1, it is clear that those members that are been upvoted by the alternative account are not receiving the full benefits of receiving tribe tokens when we upvote them because the alternative account has no tribe tokens they can earn curation from.
This abnormality has to be remedied going forward and that leads us to the next point.
@ub-sub1 and Reduced Voting Rate
At some point in our growth we started having problems of missing members post upvote due to the fact that we had grown in numbers but our SP had not grown so great couple with the fact that our SP was falling below the voting threshold I placed on the autovoter bot.
To solve the problem an alternative account @ub-sub1was created with far less SP than the main account, so it could only vote on lower membership levels post as they didn’t need high SP to achieve the same voting value as offered by upvotebuilders. While this solution worked for awhile the issue came up again.
The second solution that was introduced was to reduce our voting rates and increase our SP to cover the gap. This solution worked and is still working to date as we haven’t had any issue of low SP again as we have stayed mostly above the 80% range.
Unified Voting Account / New Voting Rates
To make all members enjoy the full benefits of membership of the community as regards receiving curation via not only Steem/SBD but also the tribe tokens and anything SMT offers, all account will now be housed on the main account @upvotbuilders.
By this action @upvotebuilders becomes the only account all members will be receiving upvotes with so that our tribe tokens grows as members tribe tokens also grow. This also makes it easier to position ourselves for when SMT finally becomes implemented.
To bring all accounts to the main account @upvotebuilders, it means we have to lower our voting rates so that the main account can accommodate every member on it. A 25% voting rate reduction will be implemented as shown on the table below.
To cushion the effect of the 25% voting rate reduction, @upvotebuilders SP is expected to grow by about 5,000 SP. If this is done, it will have the effect on our voting to your post as if nothing has changed.
Before now, about 30% of the weekly income from @upvotebuilders power down was used to renew short term leases at ub-sub1. With only @upvotebuilders using all power down income the account would be able to grow its SP by 1000 SP on 8 weeks lease per week for 2 weeks i.e. 2000 SP in two power down incomes.
I will donate Steem to lease the remaining 3,000 SP within the 2 power down dates which brings the total new SP to 5,000 SP.
The next power down income is expected this Sunday 11 August 2019, I will carry out the transfers from @ub-sub1 to @upvotebuilders and adjust the rates the same day.
Please be patient, there are huge benefits coming so please don’t allow short term adjustments of within a week discourage you.
Income Sharing
At the start of the community, it was planned that members were to share in the weekly share of Steem and SBD curation reward from our balances. We did it ones but however had issues with funding our leased SP renewal so had to put a pause to that.
Having grown our SP over time we are able to power down and funding our SP leases, focusing on one account will grow our account faster, we are also able to take up long term leases in smaller fractions so that they are easily renewable before they expire.
We have successful developed a reward system for rewarding contest winners which does not require the community spending Steem/SBD i.e. via upvotes which also benefits the community via curation so it is a win - win situation for members and the community.
A power down will be effected on @ub-sub1 when all accounts are moved away from it and the income from it will also be used to lease more SP @upvotebuilders.
Starting from 1st September 2019, a potion of our power down income will be shared with members in a pro rata manner (according to membership levels), while the majority of the income will continue to be used to increasing our SP via leasing and renewals.
In Conclusion
Again I thank every member of the community and hope we can be patient during these times as we have always been to reap the benefits that are ahead of us. I can’t do it without your constant support and that is what drives me to do even more.
Every member is important and as we move ahead we must carry every member along so that they can grow with us and gain as much as possible from the system while contributing their creative skills to make the blockchain more interactive.
These changes are necessary for equality and a fair reward system, it is also important that we are positioned to take full advantages of the changes that are coming.
Thank you,

Upvotebuilders could give a higher upvote with the upcoming 50/50 right? Or is the math more diffucult? :D

I believe 50/50 has to do with curation.
Getting higher upvotes means increasing our SP which I've mentioned how we're going about doing that.
If we grow our SP and the price of steem continues to go down then our upvote value won't go up that much.
So the maths isn't difficult.

Ohh. I forgot about the price of steem :p

I delegated 100 SP to @ub-sub1, I can remove the delegation and add it to the main account. Please let me know when I should make this change.
Thank you so much @emergehealthier for your kind support, you can remove it from @ub-sub1 this Sunday after our post goes out confirming that all users have been moved to the main account.

I'll take care of then.
Thanks a lot, you are appreciated.
