What a cutie
They were found by climbing up the fence together, and when we walked by, it was dramatic. They knew each other, and we knew too.
They were raised at a Big Cat Animal Sanctuary, 30 km outside Bethlehem.
They had no rules, loved everyone and every animal. There were wild animals roaming freely on the estate. As they grew, they learned to stay away from zebras, but the waterbucks were calm and friendly.
Despite all the dangers, they never came home with broken legs or injuries.
Instead, they came home with birds, beheaded poisonous snakes, and lots of cute field mice, with little stripes on their backs.Nothing was safe. And then...
We got laid off and moved back to Johannesburg.
These little fur babies had to become house cats.Oh dear, help everyone and everything in this neighborhood. But thankfully, they settled down nicely. We just make sure they get fed twice a day.
However, today my little lad came trotting into the garage where I was working, with something twitching and writhing in his mouth.
I grabbed him by the neck, and he opened his mouth—what I thought was a stick insect gently fell out.

I can imagine how challenging it must have been for them to adjust from being free-roaming cats to house cats, but it's wonderful to hear they settled well. 🐱💕
