White villages of Jaén: Albánchez de Mágina

It cannot be doubted that Jaén is, with all merit, the Spanish capital of that vegetable gold, which is olive oil.

But within that refined wealth, of whose fame the great cultures of classical antiquity participated, Jaén is also characterized by the beauty of its peoples.

Some towns, which by their characteristics and by making lime that metaphorical mantle of purity that covers the facades of their houses, have been denominated, through the centuries and history, as white villages.

Located a few kilometers from populations with a higher population index, such as Martos, and on the side of a spectacular sacred mountain, such as the Aznaitín, Albánchez de Mágina is a small town with a very particular charm.

Arranged in a row, along a long slope, their little houses resemble sails deployed in the middle of a metaphorical ocean of olive trees.

From Aznaitín, cultural and cultural focus from which numerous extraordinary legends sprouted that have been kept in the memory of its inhabitants over the centuries, sometimes a mist descends that is as thick, as the famous ectoplasm that occurred in the sessions of the great mediums.

Seen from the heights, on the intricate path that leads to the rock on which the old medieval castle sits, Albánchez is like a maiden who peacefully sleeps her dream, awaiting the arrival of the enchanted prince of progress.

And yet, seen this way, from these heights, it is difficult not to have the poetic feeling, of wishing that metaphorical prince to pass by and not cloud, with the lips of industrialization, a place, which after all, is definitely more charming and at the same time enchanted, seen as it is.
