By the time we got to Woodstock
We were half a million strong
Everywhere there was song and celebration...

"Woodstock" as originally written by and Joni Mitchell....

Later covered by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Steemians, what are some of your favorite deep cut covers?

Sort:

Peace & Love...
Happy time!

Cool song . My favourite cover is a famous Irish trad musician called Luke Kelly doing a cover of “days “ by the kinks. He makes the song his own yet salutes the genius of Ray Davies.

Thanks for sharing @blanchy! I hadn't heard this one before.

Great song choice @pearlcharles You sure do look like a baby flower!
One of my favorite covers is 'Handle me with Care' by Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins

Thanks for contibuting somthing great!

Well this is a conversation that could go on for hours honestly....in general I'm not a fan of covers. I tend to only appreciate covers when a band does something different with the song, sadly most don't. Take the new cover of "Africa"...what a waste of talent...it's literally the same as the original, so why bother..
I prefer when a band like Marilyn Manson does a cover and just throws a wrench in the mix and builds a new bridge completely.

That's totally understandable!

Thanks for great post
