I usually consider seeing the toilet while I'm on a train, and I'm usually urging the rest of the family to do the same. Much better than having to queue up for a toilet after arrival, or worse, needing to go but without any toilets at all nearby.

We were to some similar trip to the French alps - by bus. I was so annoyed because we had far too little time there. I would like to walk a bit around in the nature, breathe the fresh air, enjoy the nature a bit, but there was no time for that ... just get out of the bus, take the cable car to the top, enjoy the view through glass windows and get back down and into the bus.
