The Fish Market of Vila do Conde (Portugal)
This Fish Market is very simple. Still, I decided to post this for the #MarketFriday initiative started by @dswigle.
Nothing fancy about it. A few stands with fish... and that's it. So, why have these ladies complained when I took these photos?
"Can't photograph here!" - She shouted!
I smiled without speaking. She though I was a foreigner and I played along to avoid any argument. 😝
And then I took another photo:
This lady started shouting "Forbidden, forbidden..."
I didn't want to push my luck any further and went back outside.
The Market is called Mercado das Caxinas (Market Caxinas). Here's the front of the place:
I guess some people just don't want their photos taken. To contrast with the ladies, the guy on the phone wasn't camera shy, at all.
Still on his phone, unaware I was taking photos.
And now he sees me:
Notice how his behaviour changed...
Is he... posing? 😅 😅 😅
Wait, they're both posing for the camera!!! What a scene!!!
Ok, guys... thanks for the poses. That was... eh... unexpected.

I don't know. There's no confidential information over there, that's for sure. Also, these ladies love to be photographed when the politicians visit the market during the election campaign...

I'm always very aware of people when I'm taking photographs @trincowski.
They don't seem to like it here as a general rule. And to be fair neither do I. That's why I wussed out yesterday when taking the pictures of the market stalls. 😁
i'm not sure what trade secrets there are in a fish market that makes it forbidden though. 😂
We're all different. Some people pose... Others hide. These ladies decided to shout at me. Ehehe.
