Thanks, @brokemancode - I guess it comes from having parents who were both great teachers.

I like giving some context, and descriptive information where applicable, especially for those who aren't familiar with the subject matter at hand.

And, as a reader, I like it when other authors give additional information and context, as it gives a glimmer of insight into their process and the workings of their mind, and what the piece means to them personally. I find it adds to my enjoyment of the piece.
