Yup. If voting mattered they wouldn't allow it. Pretty much. And when it doesn't work as they had planned, they will try to destroy the result.
Very true. That's what happened last year when the Dutch voted on the Association Agreement with the Ukraine. The result was against the agreement, but the government simply ignored it and the prime minister just laughed it away.
Like that line from Gangs of New York: The ballots don't make the results, the counters make the results!
