The Candlelight Revolution in Korea of 2016
20171029
One year ago, there was a revolution in Korea ousting President Park Geun Hea.
Finally she was impeached from president through the constitutional process.
At that time I took the photos of demonstration. People gathered voluntarily despite of cold weather. The winter of last year was the one of the coldest in recent years.
The demonstration was held peacefully.
Here I’d like to share the photos I took at that time to feel the fever of people to make our society better place.
People was gathering at the main street in front of the Blue House, the President's Office
Policde made the barrier with the Buses to protect the President's office.
The main street was full of People.
It was a festival rather than a demonstration
People was sitting on the street to the late night
It was a Victory of common people.
I 'm proud of being together with them.

With mixed emotions.
Those who like his legacy:
Those who hate his legacy:
Good points but.... still amazing how it was done!
very interesting revolution dear @slowwalker you shared. photos are impressive
a revolution based not on guns but a candlelight vigil.
A victory won not by rising up but by sitting down.
A leader overthrown not through the activism of speeches and fiery words, but by the pacifism of gesture, the peaceful yet firm demonstration of the will of the people.
Contrast this with the 2010 G20 Toronto summit protests where the Black bloc protesters, part of an Anti-globalization movement, led a rebellion consisting of a series of rallies and demonstrations leading to rioting, arson and vandalism of property.
But here, in Seoul Korea, was a true victory and a tangible demonstration of the will of the people-- not the work of an unruly minority.
You are well justified in feeling proud, @slowwalker
Great pictures taken this is the outlook how peoples gathered peacefuly for a change.
Its the power of silence which ultimately resulted on there great win
Hope to see more likely content from Korea.
