Nice Ideas!! I have also plenty of them here laying around :) Started to design a storage tower like your last proposal but it isn't finished yet and the ones that are available don't fit to my spools.
Yeah that's my biggest problem. That and I buy from a variety of manufacturers. So my spools differ!
