Quick Tip: Voting Power And How To Check It
I have noticed a lot of confusion by the new people about how their votes count. I did a post last week discussing why it is important (click here). So today I'm going to give a "quick tip" to show you 2 different sites to view your voting power meters.
Steemd.com
This is the site that I personally use the most, I constantly refresh it to get my latest activity (pic below). It shows my power meter and my voting strength (pic above) To access the site go to: https://steemd.com/@yourusername and check it out.
Steemworld.org
This is a site I just discovered, and I think it gives some better information in regards to voting power meter understanding. Highlighted in the pic above is the actual value of your vote based on where your power meter is at any point in time. In my case, I'm almost full so I get almost a full penny on my next vote (see pic above).
Note: the interesting thing this also tells you is your vote value based on where your power meter runs down to. So don't let your power meter get below 80 or you'll have no punch!
Bonus information too! In the pic above you will see 2 very cool other features this site has. First is in the middle you will see the time it will take your voting power to be fully recharged (in my case it is 2hr and 48min). This is very good because you can know how long it will take and plan your activities accordingly.
And second is the simulator feature which you can use to imagine the possibilities. You can click on the "simulate" button and change the amount of STEEM POWER (SP) in your account to see what your voting values would be. (Note: I already did it in the example and changed my SP to "130 simulated" and I see that my voting values will be .03 at 100% at the 130 SP mark). You can play around with it and find out exactly how much voting values you will get based on what level of SP you have (or aspire to have in the future). Very very cool feature. To access the site go to: https://www.steemworld.org/@yourusername and check it out.

Oh my! I'm so glad I found your blog. This is definitely a great tool. I just saw my Voting Power meter and I'm down to 30%. I have to stop upvoting for 3 days to reach 100%. I will be motoring this from now on. Thank you so much for sharing this to a newbie like me.
lol... yes @wincee you want to keep it between 80 and 100% (unless you plan on going on vacation) ;)
I am very happy you stopped by to tell me your thought too. Its always a good to hear that people read and appreciate your posts... I wanted to give you another tip too, keep doing this. The more you are real and genuine and take the time to make sincere comments into other authors post, the more connections you can make and believe it or not you can also make more money that way too. (I'm going to upvote you for you comment, I'm still a little one too but many are not.) So by commenting you can make new friends, see great things, and actually earn some decent money just by being honest and thoughtful.
Take care and stay in touch and ask me anything anytime... I'm happy to help you wincee :)
Thank you for doing so. I appreciate yiur advice & upvote. I actually also shared your blog to my friends who are bew to steemit too coz we just keep on upvoting post without even knowing. So this reallt helps honestly. 😊
Very good that you are helping them too... That will make us all have a better experience if we work together ... Keep at it and stay in touch wincee :) and I'll also check out your blog too!

Oh wow. Another winner @davemccoy . I'm off to check it out now. I had no idea how my voting power worked. Nice though it is to see the cent value rise on each post, I'm more interested about the difference it makes when I upvote someone. Thanks buddy.
That is what the meter in on the second site will tell you... In the example above, now that I'm at full strength, my votes count for .01 (as long as I don't let it run too low from here)... Check it out and play with it, they are both very good sites for different reasons. If you have any questions about it, just come back! I always like chatting with you @looksfarwoman :)
It's brilliant, I've just been playing with them. Bummed out though because I have no power for 2 days. This could become an obsession....I'm rather prone to micro focussing. 😆
haha I think i'm prone to obsessive compulsive so I get it ;)
BTW. Didn't mean to upvote my own comment. I was on auto pilot. Lol
haha... sure sure ;) ... jk lol
😁😁😁
Nice it was helpfull... keep it up
Thank you @sarinakhan.. I'm glad you liked it... I hope you had a good new year too... Thanks for stopping by and for letting me know your thoughts too! :)
Thank you. Still trying to get my head around it all.
I am not sure what I have done, but mine is 0. Can you tell me how I did this? and how I can fix it. many thank's
Ooh. Me too. I'm at 47% at 0. It's going to take two and a half days to recharge. So it would be really useful to know, what depletes it and is there a way you can boost it to recharge quicker? God I'm so bloody blonde! 😆
good questions.. both of them
Every upvote will deplete it (so you have to stop upvoting until it gets over 90 and closer to 100)
and no, can't boost it at all... It is all based on a clock that everyone operates on (big and small)...
Bonus answer too: its actually a GOOD thing because it forces you to write in words rather than upvote your thoughts... That is actually more valuable to you and will gain you new friends and followers and yes even money if they like your comments... I have made so much more money on the comment than on any of my posts.
So give up the crutch of upvoting for 2 and a half days and focus on writing lots of comments... And then let me know how it worked out ;)
Oh dear God. That's like walking into a room with a big red button labelled 'DO NOT PRESS'! I must admit, I have been doing both, it seemed only polite to upvote a post/comment that I'm impressed with. Time to sellotape my fingers to my desk I guess. 😆 Thanks again sweetie, an absolute pleasure, as always. 😙
haha I get it... awesome analogy (you can write a little story for your blog about that one) ;)
Also I will give you 2 other tips to help someone you really like and they are powerful things...
It will help with the big red button withdrawals ;)
Oh cool. @originalartworks. That's brilliant. It will definitely help with the withdrawals......beer helps too, but this is betterer. 😁
lol its @originalworks (no art)... but it still is the same concept... and yes, I love beer to kill the red button blues ;)
I've been doing the same. I upvote comments I like just so that they can see that someone liked it. It's just so impersonal leaving them hanging not knowing if their comment was even read. :(
I know what you mean. But I guess it encourages us to respond and write something instead of simply upvoting.
and lol on being so bloody blonde.. no comment :O
No word of a lie.... my ex used to say to me,
'I swear every time you dye your hair, you lose a few more brain cells'. 😂
hahaha that's a good one, never heard it before
I'll check it out, hold on
you are good, you didn't put your username into the URL
https://steemd.com/@crazycryptoworld
You're at 98% which means you got a few if you want to click out there! I try to spread mine out now over the whole day (if I'm going to be near my computer) that way it always stays closer to the magic 100 :)
And I understand this point... Don't worry at all, it takes time for everyone... I just found the 2nd site today and that taught me some new stuff that I revealed today. This is an awesome site that is very complex, but I try to do what I can to help people at least understand what I understand. Just ask me if you still have questions, I'm happy to help! :)
Thank you, you have helped alot. If I am ok at 98% why is my vote still showing 0 when I upvote.
Its not completely 0, its just below a penny so it shows up as 0. As you get more steem power this number will rise... Just keep your meter between 90 and 100 and it will start to accumulate. One way to get your steem power up much faster is to comment on a lot of posts like you are doing with me. If you comment every time you want to upvote it, you will see you get three things 1) a potential new friend/connection 2) a chance they like what you say and they upvote YOU and 3) you will get steem every time someone upvote your comments and post too... Those 3 are far more valuable right now at your stage. And all you have to do is take a little extra time and write a good message.
Thank you for taking the time to explain this in very simple turns for me. So glad I found you.
Wow, great tools. Although i think I already spend way too much time on the site! I love the simulation tool.
yes, me too... I entered it up and down to see how it works.. I looks like every 43ish is another .01 the whole way up. And haha on spending too much time on it, it is certainly addicting ... I get it ;)
Very good work you doing good work on steemit .your voting power is increase its really good but mine votingpower is only 28 % hahahahaha its ok i m following ur guidelines i will be get success
Yes, stop upvoting until you get over 90... And when you feel like you want to upvote it, just write them a very nice message in the comment section... Trust me, its actually a good thing to learn how to do this and it will be actually more profitable for you very quickly... Just use your personality and make sincere comments and you will do great @annie32 :) ... and thanks for the compliment and I know you will be a success!
Thanks for sharing. Steemworld I had never heard of. Upvoted and followed
You're welcome and thank you for taking the time to tell me @imperialaussie! .I didn't either until I stumbled on it today. I like steemd for my activity, but the steemworld has some features that are very helpful towards understanding this platform. I am glad we are connected and hope to stay in touch with you!
