The love of God: But to those who repent he allows a return, and he encourages those who have lost hope. Ben Sira 17:24

The sapiential Book of Ben Sira teaches that all creation comes from wisdom, and that wisdom accompanies the Lord since the beginning of time, as the wise man taught at the beginning of his book: "All wisdom is from the Lord and remains with him forever" Ben Sira 1:1. Then someone might intelligently ask why God created all things, and the answer is because wisdom is expansive, progressive, gradual, and benevolent. The objects that men perceive with the senses, such as material things, originate from objects that are perceived with the intellect, and this is a spiritual teaching implicit in all the sapiential literature.
And God's spiritual love comes from this creative wisdom, because to love something, that something must be known first. God's love, although unconditional, that is, it does not take into account the evil received, has certain characteristics. God's love, being perfect, cannot coexist with error; therefore, God rejects the path of sinners. And this is why there is blessing for the righteous, like David and Hezekiah, and punishment for those who take the path of error, like Rehoboam and Ahaz. This is why the Book of Ben Sira contains a warning: "In the end, he will rise up and repay the wicked, bringing down retribution on their heads" Ben Sira 17:23.
But God, in His love and wisdom, does not want man to suffer. That is why God sent wise men and prophets to teach His law, to correct, instruct, and educate the hearts and minds of men. That is why the wise man also taught that God is always waiting for those who are lost, and giving relief to the oppressed, with these wise words: "But to those who repent he allows a return, and he encourages those who have lost hope" Ben Sira 17:24. This spiritual or wisdom teaching of Ben Sira bears a great resemblance to the spiritual teachings of Jesus about the Kingdom of God, and the mission of the divine master in the world. And this is logical because the doctrine of the Kingdom of God is a continuation of the sapiential literature. Meditating on these teachings is therefore meditating on that which drives and creates life and enriches it with science and spiritual love.
