When God is on a specific issue in your life and wants to achieve a purpose with you for the benefit of a collective, your excuses and personal considerations are set aside.

In the Word of God we find a very special situation about a character that God called to fulfill a specific task of liberation for the people of Israel. It's about Gideon. When God called Gideon, the nation of Israel was going through a very critical moment, they had reached an extreme of impoverishment because they had abandoned service to God to worship the pagan gods. Israel had reached a moral and spiritual condition of misery, left the God who had taken them out of Egypt with strong hands and brought them to the promised land. God was filled with jealousy and handed them over to the Midianites, who treated them wildly and led them to great poverty (Judges 6: 6). In the midst of this ruin and material and spiritual misery, the children of Israel cried out to Jehovah, and Jehovah, full of mercy, forgave them (Judges 6: 7).

God's purpose was to deliver them from their enemies. For this reason, God began to deal with Gideon by sending the angel of Jehovah. The matter was in God's hands and it was God who should provide himself with a deliverer or a judge for his people. When God calls Gideon for the mission he would accomplish, Gideon responded to the angel of Jehovah:

13 Ah, my lord, if Jehovah is with us, why has all this come upon us? And where are all his wonders, which our fathers have told us, saying: Did not Jehovah take us out of Egypt? And now Jehovah has abandoned us, and has given us into the hands of the Midianites. 14 And when Jehovah looked at him, he said, "Go with these forces, and you will save Israel from the hand of the Midianites." I don't send you (Judges 6: 13-14).

Gideon's words as if they were very bold and rushed before Jehovah. Gedéon himself knew that the spiritual condition of the people of Israel was on the ground, since in Gideon's own house his father had an altar for Baal. However, God had already heard the cry of repentance from the people and God was on the issue of liberation for Israel. God chose Gideon as he could have chosen another. God's deal is with Gideon, the task was for Gideon, the mission was for Gideon.

When God chooses someone for a ministry, you don't have to look for the cat's five legs. Your duty is to obey, is to obey the higher order, is to remove the excuses and say to God: "Behold, send me." God told Gideon: "Didn't I send you?" If God is the one who sends it, it is because God has anticipated all the inconveniences that may arise in the entrusted task. God knows all the details that can serve as an obstacle in the mission and God knows how to solve them. Obeying God's plan will bring great victories, great blessings and God's support in everything we undertake.

In the end, Gideon obeyed and God gave him the victory and Israel was free of the Midianites.
God has already done his part with us, gave us the victory in Christ Jesus, and now in Christ "we are more than conquerors."
