کشف کهکشان فاقد مادهی تاریک
بهطور معمول در کهکشانهایی مانند کهکشان راه شیری، مقدار مادهی تاریک سی برابر مقدار مادهی معمولی است.
اما در فاصلهی چندین میلیون سال نوری، کهکشانی کشف شده است که فاقد هر گونه مادهی تاریک است. مادهی تاریک یک مادهی اسرارآمیز غیرقابل دیدن است که در سرتاسر گیتی یافت میشود. بر این اساس، کهکشان نادری که جدیداً کشف شده است، از همان مادهی معمولی تشکیل شده است که ستارگان و سیارهها از آن تشکیل شدهاند.
در حقیقت، کسی نمیداند مادهی تاریک چیست. اما بر اساس گرانش یافت شده و مشاهدات انجام شده، به نظر میرسد که مادهی تاریک ۲۷ درصد تمام مادهی و انرژی گیتی را تشکیل میدهد. مادهی معمولی تنها ۵ درصد را به خود اختصاص میدهد.
کشف جدید نشان میدهد که احتمالاً این کهکشان بهگونهای تشکیل شده است که مادهی تاریک در آن وجود ندارد. بر این اساس، ممکن است کهکشانهای دیگری نیز وجود داشته باشند که فاقد مادهی تاریک هستند.
