True Love with Sex Dolls...

Sex dolls are a strong trend worldwide, possibly stronger than blockchains :-)

In particular, lots of reports are coming from Japan these days regarding middle-aged and elderly men falling in love with silicon babes. One of them went as far convincing his actual wife and teenage daughter to accept the doll under the same roof....and sure enough, he sleeps with the doll!

The gentleman recalls that "the moment I saw Mayu in the showroom, it was love at first sight". Logically, he takes his doll on dates in a wheelchair and dresses her in wigs, sexy clothes and jewellery. His daughter wasn't impressed initially, but now allegedly she shares the doll´s clothes.

On a more practical level, you may want to know that around 2,000 life-like dolls - which cost from $6,000 and come with adjustable fingers, removable head and genitals - are sold each year in Japan.

Well, I guess it´s easy to make fun of this trend and classify the doll buyers as disturbed people...However, according to AFP, this phenomenon reflects a deep, widespread societal issue:
"As Japan struggles with a plummeting birthrate, a growing number of men -- known as 'herbivores' -- are turning their backs on love and traditional masculine values for a quiet, uncompetitive life."

Also, I read somewhere that today's teenagers are less interested in sex than previous generations, as they attach a lot of emotional value to "virtual" contacts through chats, etc.

Oh well, real-world relationships are tough, but worthwhile in my humble opinion...
