SLC31-W2: Shop & Share Challenge - Visit a Supermarket or Mini Market

I visited the Market Square Supermarket local in Karu, Abuja. This supermarket is a large and modern supermarket that serves as a retail store which is along the **karu-jikwoyi Expressway in Abuja, Nigeria.

The supermarket has a wide range of departments, including; Fresh produce & Groceries** where you will see fruits, vegetables, and dairy consumables. A bakery & pastries for freshly baked bread and celebration cake well arranged.

A food & drinks department where you will find wines, freshly cooked meals and beverage and then household items like toiletries, cosmetics, household electronics, and small domestic appliances.

✓ Tell us why you chose that supermarket or mini market

I chose this supermarket because I needed to buy my body cream and soap for my maintenance. I have searched for Benzoyl peroxide 5% Tretinoin 0.05% from a local shop without seeing any of them, and someone then directed me to the Market Square supermarket.

Since I have searched for what I want in many places without seeing any, I then decided to visit the market square supermarket so I can get what I want from the market square. The place is so big and clean, full of products

✓ The price of the item you purchased from the supermarket or mini market

I went to a place to get Benzoyl peroxide 5% and Tretinoin 0.05% but couldn't find any of them, so I ended up buying biscuits for ₦500 which is almost worth 7 STEEM. I paid in cash at the cashier's stand.

My experience at the place is an experience that I wouldn't forget so easily and it is an experience that I would like to keep having in my place. My experience at the place was great which I even made a video and posted on my YouTube and TikTok accounts to keep remembering such a beautiful day. I have a lovely experience with my sister that accompany me to the place.

The prices for items are affordable and fairly priced. Also, the atmosphere is beautiful and the store is always crowded mostly on Sunday afternoons and evenings which often leads to people standing in queues.

✓ What do you think the supermarket or mini market needs to do to expand and tell us if the business is lagging in patronage.

I think the supermarket needs to have branches in other places to reduce the crowd, especially on Sunday afternoons and evenings. There is a need for the expansion and establishment of another branch in other places to reduce the crowd.

✓ Do you think a supermarket or a mini market should be more popular than a local business YES or NO? And support your options with what you have experienced before now.

If I were to suggest I would prefer the supermarket to be more popular in my area than local businesses because supermarkets sell quality products compared to local businesses, but supermarket products are a bit more expensive than local business products. In my town, we have both the rich and poor, and I prefer both to be equal so those who cannot afford to go to the supermarket can go to a local store and buy whatever they want.
