Jake Paul talking about MMA fight with Brock Lesnar

I suppose after getting absolutely jacked by Anthony Joshua where Jake got his jaw badly broken by a superior opponent has bashed at least a little bit of reality into the YouTuber turned very wealthy prize fighter. It is still clear that this guy is going to chase huge fights no matter where they might be though and even though Brock Lesnar is nearly 50 years old, there is no denying the impact that the big man had on UFC even though when you really dig into it, Brock wasn't really that good, he was just there at a time where nobody in heavyweight was very good.

It is so "Jake Paul" to be talking about fighting a guy that hasn't engaged in any sort of real fighting in many years though.

The two of them seem to be friendly with one another and I don't suppose there is any particularly good reason why they shouldn't be.

Even though Brock is quite old (in fighting terms) and doesn't really have much interest in MMA anymore, and hasn't for quite some time, I wonder how many zeros there would need to be in an offer to get Brock to say yes to this. I am sure a lot of people would be interested although I think Jake is a bit delusional to think that he was come out on top in an MMA contest with someone as huge as well as athletic as Lesnar is.

Although weight can vary greatly for a prize fighter a decent estimate of the size difference between Jake and Brock is 2 inches in height and nearly 100 lbs in weight. Let's just say there is a very good reason why we really don't see fights with this much weight disparity in MMA... or boxing for that matter.

I think it would be more noticeable in MMA than boxing because there are far fewer rules of engagement. If a guy with decent cardio wraps his leg-sized arms around you for a takedown and he weighs a full person heavier than you, chances are you are going down. Obviously there are some jiu-jitsu factors potentially at play here, but both Brock and Jake have about the same level of expertise in that.

The big difference isn't just size but the fact that Brock was a UFC champion (although during a drought in the heavyweight division in UFC) and he was also a wrestling champion although that was 20 years ago.

I suppose it would boil down to whether or not you believe wrestling is like riding a bike. Do you remember it all those years later or does it fade away?

It amusing to me that when asked about the wrestling pedigree of Lesnar, not in a WWE sense but in a real sense, Paul responded with the fact that he did some wrestling in high school as well.... as if that was anything at all similar to being the champion of the entire nation at a collegiate level.

Paul is very good at one thing though, and that is he is an excellent promoter. This would be one of those things that just like the Joshua fight, people would be tuning in to see Jake the smashed.

There's only so much friendliness that can go around when the name of the game is to beat up the other person that is in there with you.

I don't really think that Brock would be interested in this fight. He is extremely wealthy and also is a very private person who doesn't really want the fame that he already has. He prefers to be left alone on one of his ranches and for the most part stays out of the public eye.

But I suppose everyone has a price and if Jake were to offer Brock say, $10 million for the fight I think that would be tough for Lesnar to turn down.

I think it is funny that Jake tasted actual boxing against actual active boxers just one time, got blasted and broken, and now he is back to talking about fighting people that are old, retired, and not really on top of the fighting game anymore.

Brock has not commented about this at all.
