Opening day tickets for 76ers are a crazy price
When LeBron went to Philly for such a low price of around, I think it was 3 million a year, I was thinking that this is an absolute bargain for Philly. Of course it was entirely LeBron's choice and let's be honest, that guy doesn't need any more money. He's nearly a billionaire as it is.
But when that personnel addition happened I was thinking to myself that the Sixers prices to see games was going to skyrocket and boy was I correct about this.

So go ahead and take a wild guess what you think the price to simply start looking at tickets for the season opener on October 20th is?
$300 would be ridiculous but that isn't even close to what the actual number is. The starting price for getting into the game in Philly to see Lebron's debut is over $2100. Good grief..
I have a hard time taking people seriously about financial hardship when our sporting event ticket prices are just going through the roof. The courtside seats will probably be significantly more with nothing but celebrities and hedge-fund managers down there. By the way I don't understand the allure of courtside seats. I had them once at a minor league game and it kind of made the game harder to watch because you can't really see much of the action.
To put this high price into perspective let's look at some season openers for teams in the past that were considered high. Boston vs. Detroit is $195 and OKC vs San Antonio is $450. All of these are nutso prices in my mind considering that this is simply for the seats at the BACK. All of these games are taking place on the same day.
I almost never contemplate going to a pro sporting even in the USA unless it is a minor league game because the prices are just insane. Even if I did have $2000 of disposable income I could think of a myriad of things that it would be better spent on than a few hours in a cramped seat surrounded by 20,000 other people. No thanks!
I think sports fans are just insane with their wallets.
