SportsPodium token sale live now!
Today marks a milestone where we start the pre token sale for SportsPodium token exclusive to the Steemit community. As far as we know, this is the largest token offering IN THE STEEMIT platform, and while we are using technology that has been around for a while, it is a first.
We are also not aware of ANY other pre ICO that has been limited to the Steem community. We have a long history with the Steemit community and have decided to give a little back by running a presale of PODs exclusive to Steemit users at a 50% bonus rate.
We'd like to take this opportunity to explain exactly how the token sale will work.
We are running a website to make it as easy as possible for you to do the token purchase on the Heroku app service here: https://sportspodium-pre-ico.herokuapp.com/ The URL is protected and very safe to use. We specifically do not ask you to register to ensure that it is easy, but we do ask that you please provide your email address as we need to contact you to claim your pods when our blockchain is ready.
This page calculates the current Ether and Steem price and shows you exactly how many PODs you will be getting. Details around the POD calculations are explained in this post:
SportsPodium Pre Token Sale for Steemit and How will it work?
Our website interacts with the Steem blockchain via the standard API, which requires your password to confirm the transaction. You can review the website code in our GitHub Repository: https://github.com/SportsPodium/SteemPreICOForm
Please note that the website will ask you to enter the amount of Steem or SBD you wish to buy PODs with and also your Steemit password, which is NOT visible and cannot be accessed by us given the API we are using. We do not record your password and only use it to authorize the transaction on the Steem blockchain. We also record the transaction on our side in addition to the normal record on the Steem blockchain.
An alternative mechanism to purchase pods.
Should you want to do a transfer straight from your Steem Wallet to the SportsPodium Steem Wallet , this is also acceptable. We are recording the Ether price on an hourly basis for the duration of the Pre Token Sale and your pods will be reserved based on the recorded price at the time of purchase.
Once the main crowdsale is complete we will issue a notice where you can redeem your PODs on the SportsPodium blockchain. This is why we need you email address. You can view your allocation of PODs at any time on the crowdsale page.

Is there a prototype of your interface we can look at?
Our prototype weren't based on blockchain technology and was for Rugby only. Since the final interface will be significantly different we decided not to make it publically available, but please go ahead and look at the whitepaper which explains how it is going to work.
Yeah, I'm kind of a "hands on" kinda guy. I like to play with it and get a feel for it before investing in it. I'll wait :-)
easymoney here - Yes a sports token! I'm not sure what the token does but I will be investigating and learning more about it because I love sports!
We are going to reward sports people with crypto for participating in our community, and we will create online sports mall, give opportunities to large companies to buy our token and sponsor and advertise on our site. Our vision is that in a couple of years you would be able to buy all your equipment, tickets to events etc on SportsPodium. It will be open and transparent, aiming to decrease corruption in Sport and allow sports people to be rewarded as they should

Interesting initiative, I am hopeful for I know all too well the corruptness/bribes/cheatery of our current sports world and presently chose to support due to the suitability of this coin and need for change.

HI It is secure, and we do not see it, capture it or use it. Via the interface to the Steem blockchain it directly validates you.
