Ex-champ Marcos Maidana, interested in going back to boxing just to fight Pacquiao
Former world champion Marcos Maidana is set to appear in the boxing ring again to challenge Sen. Manny Pacquiao.
Maidana admitted that she was shocked by Pacquiao's performance in his July 21 match against WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman.
“It was surprising how he looked, he looked better than he did in other fights. He did very well, at 40, it's surprising, ”Maidana said.
Maidana - who also faces Victor Ortiz, Devon Alexander, Adrien Broner, Josesito Lopez, Amir Khan, and Erik Morales - also sees Pacquiao as his "final challenge."
“There is only one boxer left for me to test myself against, Manny Pacquiao. So with that we are waiting, I would return for him, I would like to do that, ”said Maidana.
Maidana was last seen in a boxing match in 2014 where Floyd Mayweather Jr. failed him by majority decision.
Maidana is also confident that if Pacquiao wins his offer, their fight will be full of action because of the fighting senator's enthusiasm.
Maidana is set to fight again this year following a three-fight deal with the Premier Boxing Champions.
But he canceled the plan and returned to retirement due to a financial dispute with PBC.
