The Diary Game: 2nd May, 2026. Woke On The Wrong Side Of The Bed, Bad New And Uneasy Night But Good God.

So my day started in a way I really cannot describe, but I just know I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I wasn’t feeling like myself at all. It was hard to even get out of bed. I felt really down.
I just stayed there and rested because I thought my student had already opened the shop. I didn’t want to force myself since I knew I wasn’t in the right state. So I remained there until around nine o’clock.

Then I got a WhatsApp message from my student’s sister telling me that Destiny wouldn’t be coming to the shop early today. I said okay, no problem. But that was when it hit me that the shop had been closed all morning and it was already nine.
I quickly got up and started putting things together to head out. By ten o’clock, I was ready. When I stepped outside, the sun was really hot.

When I got to the shop, I saw that it had already been opened. I entered and met my lady there. I couldn’t even express how grateful I was. I was so happy and kept thanking her. She had already opened the shop, cleaned everywhere, and was even resting when I arrived. She had earlier mentioned that she might come to the shop, but she wasn’t sure since it was Workers’ Day. We didn’t talk that morning, so I didn’t expect it. But somehow, I met her there, and she had already taken care of everything.

Later on, around 10 to 11, the light came. I called my students together because some of them were already around, and we started our lecture. While we were having the lecture, the light went off. I was surprised because it didn’t stay up to thirty minutes. I stepped outside to check and noticed that people across the road still had light while we didn’t. That was when I realized it was our usual issue where our phase trips. I waited for it to come back. It did, but only briefly before going off again. I kept waiting because it usually behaves like that, but this time it didn’t return. Eventually, around 2pm, the entire area lost power. After that, we couldn’t do much. My students started doing their own things, playing around. I stayed in the shop with my lady, my brother wo also came around and we just talked and relaxed together until around 3pm when she and my bro left.

Before they left, we ate roasted yam, ate bread, and drank kunu. I’ve actually started liking roasted yam a lot.

After she left, a few clients came in for photocopying and printing jobs, so I used my generator to attend to them. By 6pm, it was time to close. I locked up and started heading home. On my way, I remembered I needed to get a small phone torch battery from a friend who sells phone accessories. I stopped by, got it, and continued home. When I got home, my junior brother Winner and my cousin sister had already prepared beans. They served me beans and garri with enough milk and cold water. I ate, but somehow I felt very full even though I didn’t eat much.

I started feeling uncomfortable and couldn’t understand why. Earlier, I had eaten yam, bread, and kunu nothing to upset my stomach and make me feel uncomfortable, so it didn’t make sense. I sat down for a while feeling uneasy, then I went to take a shower. After showering, I felt a bit better. I also ate banana at some point, so maybe it was the combination of everything that made me feel that way.
