Narita again =/= Mal wieder in Narita 👹🍣🎎 Wonderful Japan ENG-GER

Today I have brought us a few photos from our recent trip. We made a stop in Narita, a city in Chiba Prefecture, not too far from Tokyo. Because of the nearby airport, many travelers see Narita as a sort of gateway to the Land of the Rising Sun, even though most people don’t really have the time or desire to explore the area.

The nearby Japanese capital simply has so much more to offer that you wouldn’t want to spend your limited time here in this city. But that’s just how it is with many small towns that lie in the shadow of their larger neighbors. There’s not much you can do about it, and it’s unlikely to change much. And that’s exactly how it is with Narita.

But this isn’t our first visit here, and hopefully it won’t be our last. And this time we even have a little more time, which we want to use to look around a bit, despite the hot and humid summer weather.

For example, there’s a large and well-known temple complex that we’d passed by on a previous visit, but back then we had very little time to explore it. A visit in the spring or fall would probably be much nicer, but some things just can’t be changed.

So for today, I’ll just share a few photos, but hopefully I’ll get around to telling you a little more about it later. Right now, my head is pretty full, and I need to calm down first. But that's probably going to take a little while...

Heute habe ich uns ein paar Bilder von unterwegs mitgebracht. Wir haben einen Stopp in Narita gemacht, einer Stadt in der Präfektur Chiba, gar nicht so weit weg von Tokio. Aufgrund des nahen Flughafens ist Narita für viele Reisende so etwas wie das Einfallstor in das Land der aufgehenden Sonne, auch wenn die meisten Menschen eher keine Zeit und Muse haben, sich hier einmal umzusehen.

Die nahegelegene japanische Hauptstadt hat einfach viel mehr zu bieten, als dass man hier seine limitierte Zeit verbringen würden wollen. Aber so ist das wohl mit vielen kleinen Städten, die im Schatten ihrer größeren Nachbarn stehen. Da kann man nichts machen und wird daran auch wenig ändern. Und so ist das eben auch mit Narita.

Aber wir sind nicht das erste Mal hier und hoffentlich auch nicht das letzte Mal. Und diesmal haben wir sogar ein klein wenig mehr Zeit, und diese wollen wir trotz des schwülheißen Sommerwetters auch nutzen, um uns ein wenig umzusehen.

Es gibt zum Beispiel eine große und auch bekannte Tempelanlage, an der wir zwar bei einem früheren Besuch schon mal vorbeigekommen waren, aber damals nur sehr wenig Zeit hatten, um uns umzusehen. Wahrscheinlich wäre ein Besuch im Frühling oder Herbst auch viel angebrachter, aber manche Dinge kann eben nicht ändern.

Für heute belasse ich es bei ein paar Fotos, aber ich werde hoffentlich zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt noch dazu kommen, euch ein wenig mehr dazu zu erzählen. Im Augenblick habe ich den Kopf ziemlich voll, und ich muss selber erst mal zur Ruhe kommen. Aber das dürfte noch ein klein wenig dauern...
