SC-S31/W2-Movie Magic |Movies that redefine Success (The Intern)
How are you all? To be honest, after watching this competition, I was thinking for a long time about which movie to write about. Many movies came to mind, but in the end, I saw that the person who held this competition suggested several movie names, so I selected The Intern. Because when I watched this movie, I didn't just see the story, I also felt something. So I thought I would write something about it with you.

What do we usually mean by success? Money, a big job, my own business, people's praise—all these. I used to think so, too. But after watching this movie, I felt that maybe success is not just these. Sometimes success means having peace within yourself, being of benefit to someone, or having the courage to start anew.
How did the movie define success?
At the beginning of this movie, I see an old man named Ben Whittaker, who is in retirement. Despite having everything, there was a void in his life. Which he could not express to other people. So he decided to start a new job again and joined an online company as an intern.
This place seemed very different to me. Usually, we think that when people get old, they will just rest. But here it is shown that as long as people are alive, they have needs, they have opportunities to learn, they have something to give.
I felt that this movie did not measure success by money. Rather, it showed how useful, how calm, and how much you can stand by people - that is also success.
On the other hand, the character of Jules Austin was completely different. He has money, is known, and has a big business. But he seemed very restless. Always busy, always under pressure. At that time, it seemed that just looking great from the outside does not make you happy inside.
Which character had a life you admired most?
I liked Ben Whittaker's character the most. Because he is a very calm person. He never felt inferior about his age, nor did he do anything to show his age. He just proved with his behaviour that being a good person is also a big deal.
He talks politely to everyone, listens patiently, and helps when needed. Such people are really rare these days.
Watching the movie, I was reminded of the elders in my own family. We often think that they are people of old ideas. But to be honest, their experience is worth a lot.
What lesson about success did you take away?
Watching this movie has ingrained a few things in my mind. The first thing is that age is not an end. The time to start a new one does not come separately. If you have the desire, you can start today.
The second thing is that people do not succeed just by having money. If there is pressure in the head, fear in the mind, and no peace with life, then that success is incomplete.
The third thing is that loving and respecting people is a very great virtue. Not everyone can be rich, but everyone can behave well.
Finally, I want to say onethingn: The Intern is not just a movie for me. It is a story that makes me feel like we often measure life wrongly. We only think about getting to the top, but forget about being good inside.
This movie reminded me that success is not just about winning, but also about losing. Success means being good, being at peace, and being useful, and leaving a good impact around you. I understood this after watching the movie.
I am inviting @cjsdns, @suboohi, and @ninapenda to participate in this competition.
