Pick a movie with an ending you don't like?

There are number of movies which I didn't like in the end and "Killers' is an action-comedy starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher released in 2010. It's about Jen, who falls for Spencer, a charming man with a secret life as a professional assassin, and then discovers their quiet married life is anything but normal. Let me accept Jen is a name which means a lot to me for personal reasons.

The film tries to mix romance, spy action, and neighborhood farce, but I found it dull, formulaic, and lacking chemistry between the two. The jokes often missed, the action felt routine, and the plot was predictable. I thought the movie was not up to my expectation for its story and performances.

To be frank they are so cute Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher but the director hasn't taken the best out of them. The movie in the end reveals that Jen’s father, Mr. Kornfeldt, was behind the bounty on Spencer. He had been a former operative and was testing Spencer, since he knew Spencer had once been an assassin.

After a final standoff, Spencer proves he has truly quit by refusing to shoot Mr. Kornfeldt. Jen then reveals she is pregnant, and the family finally makes peace. The movie ends on a note, with Spencer and Jen leaving their baby in the grandparents’ care while extra security watches over the house. What the heck! How parents can do that?

Rewrite the ending in your own terms?

I have seen too few movies after 2011 but I was in India when I watched "Killer" and instantly felt disappointed. I thought in my story the climax could be different as the hidden truth will explode into the open.

My Story:

Jen’s father will come forward as no longer the polite family man in the background, but the architect of the danger surrounding Spencer. He will admit, he ordered the hit having known Spencer’s secret past all along, and turned the marriage into a test of character. In the tense standoff that follows, guns are raised, loyalties are measured, and every silence feels loaded.

I will change it so pencer, battered by everything that has come before, makes his final choice not with violence, but restraint. He will refuse to fire, proving that he wanted a real life, not the one he once lived in shadows. Then the emotional turn, Jen reveals she was pregnant, and the story will suddenly shift from danger to future.

I would rather convert the ending make them leave in an uneasy but hopeful peace, wrapped in family, survival, and the sense that love finally outlasted the hunt. At the climax, I will bring the truth out, but instead of destroying everything, I would rather open the door for healing. Jen’s father will reveal his secrets, and Spencer will admit who he was and how far he had come.

I believe in the tense standoff, no one pulls the trigger. So I will make Jen step between them, reminding both men that love matters more than control or fear. Spencer should chooses peace over violence, proving he was ready for a real future.

And to top it all when Jen will reveal she was pregnant, the moment will suddenly turn from danger to joy. The family will forget and forgive, and the ending will be warm, hopeful, and full of new beginnings. I will definitely make it a "Happy Ending" rather than they leaving everything behind.

Explain why you think your own ending fits in better?

My ending fits better because it keeps the core emotional idea of Killers intact, a chaotic, secret-filled marriage story that ends by choosing love over violence. The original film mixed action, comedy, and romance, so a hopeful climax works best when it balances tension with warmth instead of becoming too dark or too serious.

I thought having Jen step in and the men stop at the edge of conflict makes the resolution feel earned, because it shows growth rather than just plot mechanics. Spencer’s choice of restraint also gives his character a clearer emotional payoff, since he proves he is not defined by his past. I thought any lady in her right mind will do that.

Finally, the pregnancy reveal by Jen adds a natural emotional lift and turns the ending toward family, forgiveness, and a future. That makes the climax feel more satisfying, cinematic, and emotionally complete.
