GOD IN DIVERSE WAYS
Who Is God?
Many describe God in diverse manners. Some according to how the saw God, some according to their encounter with him, some through the things He did for them and miracles He performed. We describe God the way we know him.
God is a self-made ancient spirit, older than days, the I am that I am, the Beginning and the End, The all-Knowing, The creator of everything, The Eternal Spirit, The Eternal Word, The universal Donor and Provider, The untraceable one, The universal Judge, The Master of everything and a lot more.
In Malachi 3:6, he says: "I am the LORD, and I change not". Even though he does not change, He does things in dynamic ways.
In Exodus 6:3, he says, "I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name the LORD, was I not known by them"
This shows His changing attitude to the sons of men. Father Abraham, God's friend, could only know him as the Almighty God, but not with the name JEHOVAH (LORD). He hid from Abraham, but revealed himself to Moses with a different name altogether.
In Hebrews 1:1-2 it is written "God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners speak in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son (that is, the written word) whom he hath appointed heirs of all things, by whom also he made the worlds"
This verses speak of God's changing method. God uses diverse ways and methods to deal with the world and his messengers in such periods. He changes not; He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
THE DISPENSATIONS USED BY GOD TO WORK DIFFERENT ERAS
Dispensation Of Innocency
This was Adam's era, which they knew nothing about evil or good. They could only use the free moral conscience which today is the Holy Spirit in the believers' heart to decide what to do. God dealt with them through their conscience before the fall purity took place (Genesis 3:2-3)
Dispensation Of Conscience
In the second dispensation, God dealt with man through his conscience, which was corrupt. There was great wickedness in the earth. (Genesis 6:5) That was the reason God brought in the judgement of the flood.
Dispensation Of Human Government
In this dispensation, God gave man authority again to govern the earth, This authority led them to oppose God by building the tower of Babel. This led to the origin of dialects (Languages) of men upon the face of the earth.
Note that in every dispensation, God set in judgement. Whenever man fails in his demands, God sets in a suitable judgement on him. (Multi-Languages) such of division and hatred.
Dispensation Of Promise
Out of the dispersed descendants of Nimrod, God called Abram out. This was purely by grace and unconditional love. And God entered into a covenant with Abraham which is symbolized by circumcision. This dispensation ended in failure through Israelite's sin. God's judgement on them was the captivity in Egypt for 430 years of bondage with hard labour (Genesis 12:1-3, Exodus 3:14)
Dispensation Of Law
At this time, God's grace returned to Israelites by redeeming them from the hand of their oppressors along the wilderness journey, and into the land promised to their fathers.
Dispensation Of Grace
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ opened the door for the dispensation of grace, which is underserved favour of God to the sinful man, to humanity. Here God gave righteousness instead of demanding it from man. Salvation is offered free through faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Dispensation Of Christ's Reign On Earth
This is when Christ shall gather and assemble those that are his from the world. A programme which all the saints shall meet at his feet in the air (1Thessalonians 4:13-16)
This is when the rapture saints and the tribulational saints and others shall return to reign with him for a thousand years on earth before Satan will be losed again.
A careful study of these seven dispensations, one would see God's changing ways of dealing with mankind. He dealt with man according to eras and also demands from them differently. He is behind every change of the world. Though some may look negative before men.
Conclusion
God is the master planner of the world's events. Whoever that lives outside him or his consultation in anything he does, will surely fail. He says, "Without me you can do nothing". (John 15:5) He helps those who depend on him to make good decision.
Do you find it very difficult to make a positive change? Return to him in a simple faith, confess your inability to make good changes and decide to walk with him all the days of your life, then something new and very specific will occur in you!
If you see anyone succeeds positively, it is only in Him: David, Joseph, Daniel, Paul and many others all succeeded because they trusted and depended on Him.
Why not run to Him now!
It is not too late!
Make God your God!
Stay blessed!
