Festival of Baba Sakhi
Today is the 5th of Sawan and on this day the Urs of Baba Sakhi is celebrated with great enthusiasm. A large number of people reach there. This Urs continues for three days. The special thing about this Urs is that it is bound to rain on this day.
I have also gone out with the children to attend the Darbar of Baba Sakhi and it has started raining on the way. We have stopped for some time under a tree to avoid the rain because the rain is very heavy. It can also be called torrential rain. As soon as it has decreased, we have started the bikes again and have set out. As can be guessed from the road and our clothes, we have got quite wet by now.
As soon as we crossed the village where the protest was held, we were surprised to find that there was no sign of rain. The place was completely dry and there was light dust. On the way, some people were going towards the temple or the fair, and some were returning. It was almost evening when we reached there. From a distance, I could see a huge rush of people. The jostling of people indicated their devotion.
As I told you, a large number of people are present here, including children, young men, women and the elderly. Most of all, there are swings, zoos and food shops to entertain the children, because a lot of money is collected through children. Apart from this, there are shops selling pakoras, samosa, juice and sweets.
People who set up their shops at fairs and earn a lot from it are in such a rush that it is becoming very difficult to pass through here with children. Every market is crowded and people are leaving.
We have also done a little shopping in which we got a remote control car and a big truck-like trailer which are quite expensive, both of them costing around 2500 rupees together, but the joy on the children's faces shows that their shopping has been good and I told them that you have to buy one each because small toys are cheap but big ones are very expensive, so my pocket does not allow me to buy very expensive toys and if there are many, I have expressed my readiness that the toy should be big and good but only one so that we can get by. I like the durability of these toys because they will last for a few days and the children will be interested in playing with them.
I fulfilled my most important goal of attending the court. I prayed for myself and my loved ones so that Allah Almighty, through this beloved elder, would bring us good. I was very thirsty and there was a water source where people were going to quench their thirst. We also took water from there.
After all this, since it was already evening and it was getting dark and we still had to go back, we bought some sweets from a sweet shop and started our bikes and headed back home. This was our entire ski adventure that I shared with you guys, including the joy of the children, their buying of snacks, the interest in the swings, the rush of the people, the vendors' money, and the splendor of the festival.
