SteemHop: A Mad Dash to the Finish Line
The SteemHop game presents users with 30 games every 12 hours. That's 60 games a day.
The game currently includes a 2 minute timer. This is two sets which are just under an hour. That is a lot of play.
One's success in SteemHop largely depends on how well the player fits these 60 games into their life schedule.
The game starts at midnight UTC. I live in Mountain Standard time so midnight UTC happens at 6PM.
On the last day of Season 19, I set my alarm clock for 4:30 AM. This way I could get two sets of games on the last day. This foolishness with my sleep schedule assured me position two and I received a 55 point reward.
I generated a Night Cafe picture of chickens hopping toward the finish line with an steam engine in the distance to comemorate the feat.
Why I am Playing Aggressively
I've been playing aggressively for the last few seasons.
The reason I've been playing aggressively for the last couple SteemHop seasons is that I want to increase the value of my SteemIt upvote. This snap shot shows my 100% upvote.
With the help of SteemHop my upvote moved from 0.39 SP to 0.40 SP.
In my addled brain, that transition was worth the effort.
I dream of the day when my upvote is worth more that two pennies. I would need 1,450 SP for that to happen. It would take 26 steemhop seasons reach my goal!
I follow my SteemWorld page regularly. Over the last couple months it showed that my steem curation income ran from 9 to 12 SP a week. With my steemhop winnings my earnings fluctuate from 10 to 13 per week.
NOTE Last year I borrowed $300 to get my upvote over two pennies. The price of STEEM collapsed after the purchase. I am repaying the loan at 10 STEEM a week. I want my weekly rewards to be greater than the 10 STEEM power down.
My Game Play
The table below summarizes my game play.
Max Score is 241
Spins 4 for 388
Logins 5 for 50
Daily Tasks 29 for 1,450
Total Games 243
Total Points 24,289
Average Score 99
| Range | Games | Points |
|---|---|---|
| 0-49 | 73 | 1,424 |
| 50-99 | 58 | 4,288 |
| 100-149 | 40 | 5,086 |
| 150-199 | 54 | 9,642 |
| 200-249 | 18 | 3,849 |
I've had 73 games where I choked during the opening. Once I get past the opening I do okay and can usually make it to the ending bell. I had 18 games where I crossed the 200 mark.
I've found that I've had long streaks where every game goes smoothly.
Other times the logs just don't align and I find myself snarled in the branches.
Since I have an old computer, I find that I can only play about 15 minutes before I have to log out, close and reopen the browser so that I can continue to play.
Conclusion
Thanks SteemHop. You helped me raise my upvote value. The increase benefits both me and the posts I upvote.
I have my greedy little eyes on the second slot for this season, though I will probably cool it next season.
I appreciate that you are trying to make the game more equitable. I believe that the best way to make the game equitable is to limit the number of games based on the player's average score.
