Reminder for Pacific Northwest U.S. Meet-up!!
Dear Steemians or those interested in Steemit in the Pacific Northwest corner of the United States,
We are doing the first meet-up in the area and would love for you to come! Tell your friends in the area.

Life is full and busy and I know that it can feel hard to find time to add in another thing but I'll just say a few things that I hope will encourage you to do it anyway.
It's worth the time to get to know your Steemit community, we're all a part of something very ground-breaking and the more bonded we are, the more power we have.
The first time I put together a meet-up was exactly a year ago on a trip to NYC. I had been connecting, commenting and such with several steemit friends who lived there and was curious to meet them in person so 6 of us got together at a coffee shop. I remember the exciting crackling energy I felt meeting face to face these people who I had already gotten to know to some degree but not in the way that we often do in life. Somehow all of us being on this cutting edge decentralized platform that we barely understood yet it had pulled us in anyway gave us a kinship and common purpose.
The fact that communications on Steemit seem to cut through the masks that often get in the way of connection gave us a bond so our conversations were easy and exciting and this experience made the platform come alive. And when I discovered that not only did I like these people digitally, but that I really liked and respected them face to face, the power of Steemit made a quantum expansion in my life.
And then again last week while I was in New York again I met up with a few of these same Steemians plus a few more friends and it was again so great and at the very least a very worthwhile experience. I consider these people close friends for real, not just within some other unrelated category of my life.

Man this is awesome. I hope to one day be able to attend a steem meetup. Would need it to be on the east coast. Hopefully a US Steem Fest happens and I can make it to that.

Aw. Have a wonderful time. I used to live in Seattle and if I was still there I'd definitely make the trip to Portland.
I went to my first meetup in London a couple of weeks ago and it's so much fun meeting people in person. If you can make it, make sure you go! 😊

I actually have family in the UK so it's not all that far fetched. If only they didn't have the quarantine for animals since I always bring my tiny dog traveling.
actually I just looked up current rules for entering the UK with a dog and it look like it's do-able providing I follow the rules which aren't too rigorous. One less obstacle :-))

Also, by the way, you are talking about the Hopworks Bike Bar, no the brewery. The brewery is down in Southeast Portland right next to my house.

I live in a very remote country .. for this reason I can not attend your meeting!

Lol, yes all of our lives have been drastically altered by steemit and I too sit at the computer MUCH more than ever before in my life. I totally wish you were coming to Portland and could come! However, sometime in the next year and a half we will find ourselves in the same part of the world and it will work....I'm sure of it.
