in #steemiteducation8 years ago

You are first going to read the story.  While you read, picture in your mind what you are reading and get a feel of the setting and the characters.

Then complete the assignment

Sipho was a homeless boy.  He heard people calling him a street kid.  His mom and dad died a long time ago and he did not have any family.

He stayed in a foster home for a while, but nobody ever wanted to adopt him and when the Police decided to close the foster home, because the foster parents were mean drunks, he was suppose to go to a group home, but he was scared because he heard some terrible stories and he ran away.

Ever since he has been living on the street.

It is a hard, difficult life on the streets, but Sipho has made some friends and they all look out for one another - they do not use drugs and if one of them have money which they got for doing an odd job, they share.

Sipho lives on the docks - here is enough places where he can sleep warm at night and he loves watching all the boats and the sea.  Most of the people working on the dock knows him and sometimes give him food.

Sipho also help them, even if he does not get payed, he loves helping people and he has a kind heart.

One evening when Sipho was walking around the dock looking at the boats and also searching for something to eat, he heard some shouting.

"Get off my boat."

The voice was loud and angry and when Sipho peeked around the corner he saw it was Mr Radebe.  A kind old man and owner of one of the fishing boats.

Sipho knew something had to be wrong, because Mr Radebe was always so nice.

"Don't you threaten me" Mr Radebe continued shouting.  Sipho could not see who he was talking to, because the person was standing behind another boat.

The only thing Sipho heard was the man shouting back "You will be sorry."

When the stranger came from behind the boat, Sipho saw that the man limped as if his one leg was shorter than the other.  He did however not recognize his face and knew that he never saw him on the dock before.

Sipho quickly hid behind an old boat lying in the dry dock when he saw the man come closer - it was better for street kids to stay away from trouble, because it was easy for some people to blame the street kid, even if it was not even their fault.

The only thing he knew was this looked like trouble and he shivered by the thought of it and as the icy wind blew through the rips of his jacket that has been too small for a long time.

On his way back to his other friends, he suddenly saw lights going on and off.  There was a grey van and in the van he could make out 3 heads.  The driver was giving a signal to somebody on the other side of the dock.

Sipho crouched behind the dustbin.

Three men got out of the van.  One of them were the man with the limp.  With them they had guns and were unloading crates from the back.

Sipho wanted to run and hide, but he knew he dad to stay and see what they were doing.

He was scared.  Who will he tell?  How will this all end and how is Mr Radebe mixed up in all of this?

Sipho moved forward and the next moment he heard ......

Now it is your turn - finish the story in the way you would like it to end.  Use your imagination.

What happens to Mr Radebe and Sipho and the criminals?  Does Sipho have a happy ending?

There are so many ways in which you can decide to end this story.  There is no right or wrong way, only your way. - but remember everything must be resolved at the end.

Think before you write and give it a good ending.

Let your imagination go and your creative juices flow.

Thank you - I am so glad if somebody can use it

A child's imagination should rarely be limited. As long as it not working anyone, then imagine away.
