Nature’s Balm, My Oasis A short respite after a tiring week from a digital world to connect to earth. For this contest, I visited a close green sanctuary, a calm haven of nature that brings me to the simplicity of what’s left behind as we live our life day to day. The Grass Under My Feet The minute I came, all I did was remove my shoes. There’s a form of therapy that has been named grounding, where one connects to earth with his bare feet to rejuvenate his senses.

The cool dampness of the green grass was just blissful and feeling the varied green blades along with the small wild plants made a blanket way better than any humanmade flooring. Canopy Above Me As soon as I look up, the canopies greet me. The enormous mango trees, with their deep green, protect me from the blazing sun.

I notice a large ripening mango hanging from a branch and they have no idea about all the hustle in our lives and continue growing and providing, just given space. The sunlight falling on the grass creates a magical pattern of shade and light. Underneath the Fallen Leaves Looking at the ground below me in those shady areas reveals a carpet of fallen leaves dried and brown.

The crunch of my feet over them is a sweet symphony of the dry scent and earthy odor from them, giving a vibe of earth taking back it’s on resources and making something new. This area of fruit trees, and palms, feel like a mini personal forest where everything goes slowly. Up to The Skies The sky as afternoon went on changed and shifted from bright blue to the greyish white cloudy patterns. Standing there I felt so small looking through the tree canopies, past the houses.

And the "digital noise" - the pinging of messages, the swiping through screens and the mental to-do list of a long week - simply started to melt away. Surrounded by the quiet under the canopy, I found myself moving from reactivity into being present. The worry of the "hustle" evaporated and left a quiet sense of clarity. It really drives home how our brains are not supposed to be "on" all the time - and they need the peace and stillness of the trees to sort things out.

So huge! We are a minute little speck in this Earth system and sometimes we still feel so isolated. We don’t even need to go far away to sense this peace from nature, whether feeling the grass on our feet, or watching a fruit grows on a tree, or gazing at the clouds in the sky. These nature spots in the surroundings are an ideal retreat for a renewal.

Thanks for reading my post I'm inviting @ninapenda, @chant and @pea07 to participate.
