RE: Anyone Can Become A Whale In Under 90 Days
I simply don't have time or the finances to commit to becoming a whale in anything right now. That being said, I still try to participate and support communities and individuals I want to see thrive.
Notice the sense this conveys as opposed to those who a truly driven simply by money. Sure, we all live in a system where financial obligations need to be met. Those who can derive a livable income from their actions on here are in a unique position. That said, many of the greatest fortunes, in financial terms, often were created by people not driven by money. It is what they were creating that was the basis for their financial windfall.
We will see the same on here. Those who are driven by a particular subject they are passionate about will, in all likelihood, end up with a large stake in the community that reflects that passion. This will create a very influential person in terms of the impact that can be made.
It is for this reason that we all should be excited about the opportunity to become Whales in different communities. This is one of the ways we can impact things for the better.
This is all so true. This is why I'm trying to no longer even consider what my upside is when I interact A anywhere on Steem.
Don't get me wrong, I still still make investments. And of course I want to make money. But I'm a long term thinker when it comes to steem. When I post, vote, or comment I want my actions to have a positive impact on Steem.
Unless you are in dire financial straits you shouldn't be worried about your current profits on Steem. If you are then you have missed the point. This is an investment. Right now you are investing your time and or money in an application specific blockchain.
If you truly want to strike it rich with Steem then you need to increase its value. Your pay day is when steem is a success. The more Steem you control when that day comes, the better.
This ain't financial advice. This is common sense.

Great comment. Thanks for sharing that perspective.
I see your point and believe you are onto something with it. Over time, the exponential growth is achieved by millions of different actions by all of us, adding value to the entire ecosystem.
Also:
Everything is transparent here. The DAO is watching.
I firmly believe that if I try to bring value to Steen, the DAO will reward my intentions.
