Childhood Memories
You enjoy the soft drizzle on the rooftop, where the city hushes and the world feels intimate. Rain whispers against the tiles, a steady, comforting rhythm that makes you feel different.
I can smell damp earth in the air and distant sounds of children in the park outside. I watch droplets sketch along the parapet, catching the morning's glow.
It all brings a memory of my childhood monsoon and yes, a neighbor’s faint musical tune. I feel like the time is stopped and small worries flew under the sky’s cloudy sheet.
I am feeling as if I have stolen minutes from my childhood, as I breathe, listen, and simply belong to the rain.
And yes, now there is no fear of thrashing that used to be during my childhood when mom or dad caught us getting wet in the rain.
