CineAtlas 60 | Week 6 - Community Remake | [Akwanga]
Today I want to go to one of the lovely villages that is closer to my town and get a video for this challenge after getting inspired by @kibreay001 who created a post about his community which inspired me to visit a local community near the town where I am staying.
In this community that I visited, there is a particular spot that elderly men usually gather to play games and have conversations which is very close to the main road that connects the community to the town and other villages.
Closer to the main road there is a woman who usually comes out to fry akara, plantain, and potato, and sells pap which attracts people to the place as well. The bush road is always noisy, and the good thing about the community is that the people are loving and caring for one another. There are loving, caring, and like working in unity for the progress of their community.
In the video, you can see how elderly men are gathered together playing cards and having conversations, a busy road, and a woman who is frying something by the roadside. The two mango trees serve as a shade and it makes the environment more conducive for people to come together and spend their time.
The post of @kibreay001, really inspired me to create something different. In the video, I decided to remake the main idea and visual storytelling style. What stood out the most in the video was how the message is communicated through expressions, actions, and movement rather than too much dialogue. In the video, I focused more on creating that same emotion and sequence of events.
I transformed the idea into my own version by adapting it to my own environment and creative style which instead of me copying it exactly I did the following:
I make use of a different setting and background that reflects my surroundings.
I directed the scenes in my video my own way with camera angles and shots.
I added slight changes to the actions and expressions to make it feel more original and natural.
As for choosing the location, I chose this location because it was; more convenient and easy to access for filming. It is also suitable for creating the right mood and atmosphere which is quiet enough for me to shoot without too many distractions and finally, the location is appropriate for the scenes that I wanted to create which has helped me to create a relatable story.

Evaluation Summary (Week 6)
Final Score: 8.8 / 10
General Comment
A strong Week 6 entry with a clear and valid remake idea. The post properly identifies the inspiration and transforms it into a personal village-life version with its own mood and community identity. The concept works well, though the video would feel even stronger with a more cinematic visual structure and a slightly bolder reinterpretation.
In such a rural environment, the joy of sitting under a mango tree, chatting and playing cards is different. It is a joy to lose yourself for a while, refreshing the mind in the shade of the tree and the gentle breeze. There, because of the fried kachakala and potatoes in the bhajapora, eating it along with the story is a complete joy.
I am really happy to know that you were encouraged and inspired to participate in this competition after seeing my post. I am very happy to see that you participated in the competition in such a beautiful way. Thank you very much for each and every participation in such a beautiful way.
