The Warm Embrace of the Golden Hour
There is also a magical period when the sun is very close to the earth at the end of the day. People call it the golden hour and I believe that it is the most peaceful time of the day. Not long ago I went for a walk not far from a huge farm. At that moment I saw a vast field of wheat. Sun was setting down at the back of the field and made everything around me warm and golden. I stopped for a while and took these pictures because of the incredible sight.
When looking at these pictures I am transported into the warmth of that wonderful late afternoon. The wheat on that field was ready and its top was shimmering with the sunlight like real gold. On one of the pictures the sun is a huge and bright ball in the sky making everything golden. There are a couple of silent trees far in the distance and the faraway mountains look soft under such a golden sky. I remember standing in that place listening to the whispers of the dry wheat.
In the other picture, the sun is low as well, creating a huge flame in the center of the sky. Its powerful rays create areas of light that make certain parts of the wheat field dark while others bright golden. The long shadows, the warm and bright yellow hue of colors cover everything from the ground to the sky. Taking such photos made me feel extremely relaxed. In our hectic lives, we usually spend the evening in a rush, either preparing dinner or looking at our monitors and phones. However, standing there, I understood how wonderful it was to simply watch the sunset.
Such photographs have a unique meaning for me. The golden field made me realize how peaceful nature is. Slowly growing from the seeds in the sun, the plants turn into a sea of gold. The golden wheat field made me think of how I should give myself enough time without hurrying all the time. I am sure you will be able to feel the warmth of the sun during the sunset after seeing those photographs.
