25The Dairy Game: Cooking For My Sister's Birthday (25-04-2026)
When I got home, I thought my sister who was celebrating her birthday would be around, but luckily she had gone to work. That gave us time to start preparing food. I cut the chicken into smaller pieces, keeping a small part for pepper soup and the bigger part for the stew. My immediate younger sister started helping with the cooking because I was already weak and should not stress too much. I asked her to boil rice first because I was very hungry and needed to take my medication. While the rice was cooking, she began preparing the pepper soup. I was already sweating, and some of the soft tomatoes I bought had spilled on my body, so I had to go and shower again. By the time I came out, the food was ready. We ate rice and pepper soup, and after eating I took my drugs and slept because my body needed rest badly. My younger sister also slept. When we woke up later, we started preparing things for the stew, and by then my sister had returned from work. We gathered in front of the house and continued cooking together. Even though I was still recovering and weak, I was happy we were able to make progress and do something special to celebrate my sister’s birthday at home.
Since we had already prepared everything for the stew, cooking did not take much time. We only had to put everything together in the pot, fry the tomatoes, and finish the stew. When it was ready, everybody ate and was satisfied. Our friends who came around ate, my neighbor also joined us, and it was a joyful birthday celebration. My sister brought puff-puff from her workplace and shared it with everyone. She also bought drinks, and we all drank, celebrated her, prayed for her, and wished her well. Everyone was happy, and the atmosphere was full of laughter. After eating and celebrating, my sisters came to my room with the children, and we all watched a movie together on my phone. We were watching Everybody Loves Jennifer, and it was fun having everyone gathered together. We had planned to go to church in the evening, but the heavy rain made it impossible. The rain was too much, and I was not comfortable walking through muddy roads or returning with wet feet, especially because I am still recovering. Even though we could not go out again, we thanked God for a successful day. We ate well, spent time together, celebrated my sister. After watching the movie, they said they were hungry again and wanted to eat, but I was not feeling hungry because of my health and all I had eaten earlier. They went to the kitchen, warmed the food that was left, and ate again with so much enjoyment. After eating, they all went to shower and later returned to their respective rooms, and that was how the day gradually came to an end. As for me, I did not feel like eating oily food because of my condition, so I chose to eat the rice with pepper soup instead. After eating, I took my medicine, had my bath, and climbed into bed to rest. I was tired from the day’s activities, but I was grateful everything went well and my sister had a joyful birthday celebration. That was all for today. Thank you so much for reading and following along. I truly appreciate you all. God bless you, and I love you all.
