The Diary Game: 5th July 2026. A Day Filled With Mixed Emotions🄹

in #thediarygame • last month

Hey, boo-boo🄰. Good evening. It’s Naomi here againšŸ’•

Today was supposed to be my hair care day, but I ended up getting disappointed by the lady I had booked an appointment with.

This morning, the first thing that woke me up wasn’t my alarm—it was my husband’s phone call around 5 a.m. He called to tell me to come outside and open the gate because he had just returned from work. Immediately, I jumped out of bed and rushed to open the gate for him. I had missed him so much, and honestly, I wasn’t even expecting him to come home today.

When he finally came in, I was so happy. We were both excited to see each other because he had been away for quite a while due to the nature of his job. His work doesn’t allow him to stay home often, so every moment we get to spend together feels really special. Since it was still very early in the morning and daylight hadn’t fully broken, we decided to go back to bed for a little while before officially starting our day.

When we finally woke up, we said our prayers and thanked God for another beautiful day. After that, we spent some quality time playing with Jace, laughing, playing games, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Those little moments always mean so much to me.

Later, I decided to prepare breakfast for us. We ate together, talked, and enjoyed the meal. After breakfast, I picked up my phone to call the lady I had booked for my hair appointment. I had made the appointment the day before, and she had already given me a specific time.

To my surprise, when I called her, she told me she already had another client and asked me to wait until she was done. I was honestly so upset because that wasn’t our agreement. I called exactly at the time she gave me, so it wasn’t like I was late or didn’t keep to the appointment. Hearing her tell me she had taken another client instead really annoyed me.

She promised she would call me back after she finished with the other client, so I waited patiently. Hours passed—more than four hours—and she never called. I was really disappointed and angry because she’s the only person I genuinely trust with my hair. She braids it so neatly, and she understands my hair so well. My hair is naturally very soft, and it gets rough so easily. Anytime someone else braids it, the hairstyle barely lasts a week before it starts looking rough, and I really don’t like that. That’s why I always prefer her.

Seeing how upset I was, my husband tried to cheer me up. He encouraged me to be patient and said maybe she would call me the next day. His words made me feel a little better.

Later, we started discussing what to eat. I wanted to prepare white rice and stew for us, but my husband insisted that he would cook instead. I told him, ā€œNo, you’ve been away for a while. Let me give you the baby-boy treatment today.ā€ But he refused and kept insisting that he wanted to cook for me. We playfully argued over who would prepare the meal, and in the end, he won.

He made the stew and rice, and honestly, it came out so delicious. My husband is such a good cook, and I always enjoy his meals. We ate together, laughed, and continued spending time with each other. Having him around again felt so comforting. It honestly felt like a huge blessing. Every moment with him reminded me how much I miss him whenever he’s away.

Today was also Sunday, and I was supposed to go to church. Unfortunately, because he had just returned home and we were so excited to finally spend time together, we didn’t make it to church. We simply stayed home, enjoyed each other’s company, and made the most of the little time we had together.

As evening approached, reality set in again. My husband started getting ready to leave for work, and my heart broke all over again. It’s really hard not having your husband around most of the time because of work. I miss him every single time he leaves. But at the same time, I understand that he’s working hard to provide for us, and I’m grateful for everything he does.

After he left, I found myself back to my usual quiet routine—back to being the lonely girl again. It was definitely a day filled with mixed emotions. I experienced happiness, disappointment, laughter, love, and sadness all in one day.

But above everything else, I’m grateful to God because the day ended well.

Goodnight, boo-boo. See you tomorrow. ā¤ļø
