The Diary Game: A Peaceful Sunday — Church, Oatmeal and Cooking Rice | 17/08/2026
Good day Steemians! Welcome to another episode of my diary with yours truly, @onwulexng. Today is Sunday the 17th of August 2026 and it was one of those quiet, peaceful days that remind you to slow down and just breathe.
I woke up at 5am this morning. There's something about waking up early on a Sunday that just feels different — the air is quieter, the world hasn't caught up yet and your mind is still fresh. I got myself together and prepared for church. Sundays are sacred for me and starting the day with God just sets the right tone for everything else that follows 🙏🏾
Made my way to church and it was a good service as always. On my way back home I stopped to pick up a few things I needed to cook later in the day. A small errand but necessary. Back home after church, I made myself a solid breakfast — oatmeal with egg and milk. Simple, nutritious and filling. If you're into fitness and clean eating you already know this combo hits different. It kept me fuelled and ready for the rest of the day.
After breakfast I sat down with my system and did some work, checked on my website and went through a few things online. As a web designer and digital marketer, even Sundays sometimes call for a quick check-in. The hustle doesn't fully rest but I kept it light since it's the Lord's day. Later in the afternoon I cooked rice for lunch. Nothing fancy but a good homemade meal after a productive morning always feels rewarding
As the day winds down I find myself grateful for the simple things... a good church service, a warm meal, a functional system to work on and the peace of a quiet Sunday. Not every day needs to be eventful. Some days are just meant for rest, reflection and recharging for the week ahead. And today was exactly that. Tomorrow is a new week and I'm going into it with fresh energy and clear focus
