Jeeping and Glamping #2 - Mining towns in the "Golden Triangle"
This time we went through some forests in Daylesford and Castlemaine, visiting the townships and some historic locations. This area is known as the "Golden Triangle" as it's where most of the gold was found in Australia in the 1800s.
We came out of the forest at Bullarto, an old railway station on a line that used to run all the way into Spencer St in Melbourne.

This used to change the direction of the rails though I doubt it works anymore.

Nowadays it serves a tourist train that serves only the local region.

Looking down on Daylesford lake. We're definitely coming back here soon, with some sort of raft so we can relax on the lake. Absolutely stunning.

We crossed from Daylesford into Castlemaine and visited the gardens there.

We were in a bit of a rush so we didn't take as many photos as we would have liked. Stunning day though.
