My visit to the José Martí roundabout, a modern and minimalist design

Hello, fellow travelers! It is a pleasure to greet you and wish you an excellent, blessed day. Today, I am sharing my visit to the José Martí roundabout, located on Gran Mariscal Avenue very close to the Fondo Común bank. This roundabout is ideally situated, providing access to various parts of the city—including the Monument area, the hospital, and the Caigüire district. It stands out for its minimalist, modern design, featuring LED lighting beneath the benches and four planters—one on each side—as well as four access points connecting to the aforementioned avenues. In the center, there are several flags and a bust of José Martí; the bust rests on a distinctive pedestal consisting of a rectangular structure made of concrete slabs, with a square section at the base displaying the plaza's description.

The plaza was built some years ago but was recently renovated; a bust of José Martí was added, and the gardens were updated with new plants—including purple-leaf varieties and palm trees that lend a tropical feel. Given the coastal location, these plants are abundant in the area and contribute to the local landscaping. A bank—visible in the background—is located nearby; the building is white with a tiled roof.
