Continuing my tour of the Caigüire district, I’d like to share my visit to the Valentín Valiente roundabout and plaza. Located at the district's entrance—just a few meters from the Santa Ana Church and very close to the beach—this plaza pays tribute to a distinguished soldier named Valentín. He was nicknamed "Valiente" (Brave) by the Liberator Simón Bolívar in recognition of his great feats and strategic brilliance during the struggle for independence. Leading an army composed of local residents, he succeeded in defeating various enemies and was promoted from soldier to general by Bolívar himself; it was his gallantry and courage that earned him the name Valentín Valiente. His remains rest in the National Pantheon, alongside other Venezuelan national heroes
