Mistake #2: Never trust a Swiss person's judgement of difficulty when it comes to mountain hiking. They are goats capable of anything 🇨🇭

We sort of did the opposite mistake once, met some Dutch people coming down from the mountains, they were bragging on how marvelous the view was "up there". So of course we had to climb up the mountains to look for the view. We were walking and walking and walking, waiting to find the spectacular view, in the end we realized that dutch people may have different perspective than us on what is considered "spectacular view" :-)

Hahaha!!
Easily impressed just like us Australians, having no mountains of our own 😝

Very cool area, I like that it is so deserted. It must have been a fantastic adventure to hike there. Thanks also to the beautiful pictures that you brought to the steemit community.

Did you sleep there in a tent or a near house? Can imagine that it would be wonderful ot get up there in the morning, with this great view.

I loved how almost barren it looked too! Like walking through the end of the world at some points, with not even a tree in sight. It sure was beautiful.

I slept further down near the Gjendesheim cabin and ferry point, about 500m away in my tent, by a rushing river that made me feel like an Arctic explorer! 😂 I think you could camp anywhere along the hike though, as long as there is a spot just off the path of the trail 😊

I went there last summer, such a beautiful place! I only had my summer sleeping bag with me though so it good a bit chilly in the tent at night, the lake is located quite high

Oh wow @jpphotography, you must have been freezing! Being Australian, I was there in my -5 degree sleeping bag and 3 jumpers in the middle of summer 😂😂

I've had worse nights, for example on Hawaii where I was camping just with a cheap tent but without a sleeping roll or a sleeping bag on volcanic rock on an altitude of over 1000m, that was a bad sleep 😅

Oh wow that's rough!! But I'm sure it would have been worth it in such an incredible and beautiful place!
