Spectrals scaling down

the scene:

pt1

A notch down from one of the last greater demos i remember since i started watching scene again, very cool little demo though but if you see what these people were capable of before they grew too old and claude rotted their brain and they burned out completely from too much crack and fentanyl

VX2

twas around that time that we started checking out pouet and stuff again and this one was really impressive

the scene :

pt2

that other scene

doesnt pop out much but a lot of games lately, mostly lightweight afternoon tea coding but here and there some real jewels

this is a pretty good cover, i always like to remind people the sid is a $20 chip which has 3 mono channels , oscillators of which one can be used for a filter - you just try it , you'll find to be harder than "jippedee write me a jingle"

although TODAY it wouldnt surprise me if "jippedee, goattrack me that song" would be an option

... ah TIME

maybe we'll continue this post later

personally i have nothing to add but shyte piling on shyte, it makes the world look entertaining from this little personal circle outward

and yap, after dinner i couldnt escape passing by the telly where someone gets their daily dose of brainwash and

"Veel vlamingen zullen nu goedkoop kunnen lenen bij de overheid om de energiefaktuur voordeliger te maken"

so how this works in numbers on a real calculator ... it must be an american thing seeing how succesful they are since BRICS started eating away at the removal of gold and the hostage situation they created with the worlds money to build a debt-economy

WE SHOULD TRY THAT TOO !

"why we dont watch tv"

so thats enough, i know enough for the next 3 months

ursulatax ... 5 years ago i bought 3 joysticks from canada for €15 and at the door they cost €80 ... nothing new

but its more of the same, is it ?

well without money it doesnt bother me somehow ... must hurt those people with the leased cars and those 20 cheap loans by now

ALWAYS POSITIVE !
you know us !

gud,

GREAT EVEN, time to check the mailbox and rest a bit so we can hold out til 5

... heh ... Well its kinda funny but if an artist would have done it would have been WOAW, right ?

yea yea
good thing we have free speech or id have to mince words but

im a crazy person so my words have no weight

aaand

if you ran out of anime because you dont know romanians

"full movie" definitely worth a sunday afternoon

i wonder why they havent illegalized these as SUPER INFRINGING ON OUR FERRARIS GAMEPLAY VIDEOS

yet ...

Ah since we only get on this refurbished i3 "webserver tester" when the flipcoin says so we might as well add all the main events in our life since last time

  • updated JoGgy '24 (released in 26 but bem, id say it took about 6 months to make if i count the calendar time but the game was mostly there from the browser game so YES its a port BUT NO its not because we ported our own game from phaser/browser to jaguar/jagstudio ) - we will ALWAYS try to do originals because

well

ports are rarely better than the original imo, i played ultima 1 on the original apple II core and FF1 the original but jEng translation bugs included , it just feels better but that doesnt mean we have the need to tell someone else what to do

IT JUST FEELS LIKE SUCH A WASTE, if you got the skill to program it, why dont you design your own stuff ???????

probably a normal people thing which is hard for our borderline autist to understand

and was there anything else ?

o yea i think the Atari ST beat the amiga in game of the month 16bit release

https://samsoft.itch.io/miracle-boy-in-dragon-land

https://samuelblanchard.com/samsoft/# the guys site, i dont think its the first program they ever wrote for the ST ... as we all know, "platformers are hard" for those Atarian machines ... it takes real men writing real code to make it work, no coppers no paulas no stuff

the game does it well i think

and actually seeing this in 2026, with wonderboy in monsterland being one of my all-time fav arcade machines (back as a boy i had access to about 3 or 4, at the swimming pool or tennis cafetaria, and the othes came with the carnies twice a year .... generation green beret with the tek-toppers being roadblasters and operation wolf, but 20 francs didnt last long) otherwise i say massive halls at the seaside when we went to my aunts appartment for 10 days or so but again

20 francs didnt last long, those people who would one-coin dragons lair or space ace were pretty much X-men in the kids eyes

you get a very well picked selection of palettes, more than decent scrolling, GREAT YM tunes, parallax even (everyone seems to fall for that word if you just use it on a retro game page) , it doesnt jerk but i still feel like im playing an ST you know

which is great because an ST feels like what the boy had because he had one

and if you play STE or have one you get extra jingles although ii dont know for sure if it uses the STE's extended palette (which still only gets 4bp if you dont split the screen) and hardware scrolling AND i also dont know if the hard disk version comes with or not streamed DMA audio

i DO konw this is definitely the greatest game to hit the ST in years

i dont take responsibility for having an opinion

everyone with money should buy a copy (physicals are already sold out AS WAS EXPECTED HERE) so these guys MAKE MORE GAMES FOR THE ST

and here's hoping it stays ST-exclusive ...

eeuuhh, i think we are

ah well

edit : correction :
from the site
"
The game is compatible with Atari STf/STe with at least 1MB of memory and runs in low PAL resolution (320x200). If you want to use the game's digital sounds (apart from the music), 2MB is required. Falcon model is not officially supported as SamSoft does not have the necessary hardware to ensure optimal game performance on this platform. The game does not work on Atari TT. :/ The game runs on floppy drives, Gotek, and the ACSI2STM hard drive emulator. SamSoft does not guarantee that all hard drive drivers are supported, although the HDD driver appears to work correctly. If you are using a floppy drive, an additional floppy disk is required to save your progress. On the Atari ST, the game will be available in both physical and digital versions. It will also be available digitally on PC.

"
so theres no specific STE but it depends on memory - bad intel we must have had ("STf" means ST with a blitter chip and "STE" comes default with a blitter chip)
blitters were a thing back when to copy memory blocks very fast (at temporary standards) which for a machine that doesnt have hardware sprites like the C64 makes a ton of difference, the jaguar has one too but TBH

in "joggy24" we dont use the blitter not even once, its OP all the way ... but thats mostly

because we dont have a real jag, real jags cost about €2000 by the time they're here p&p tax import tarriffs stuff with a gamedrive that costs €200 before buying , and the mister core wasnt happy doing blitter stuff so we actually never got to it ...

"trivia and useless facts"

im backing up and backing up things doesnt work like in the movies , we must have old stuff or something, it takes more than 10 seconds to copy a datacenter to a flash drive here

so ... pfff euhm yea well - "whats content" Shakespeare said , .... i think "content is an excuse to tank the price and get away with it" in some parts of the world in a different time in a galaxy far away but thats probably personal opinion too oooo

and well ppfff euhm (at least you know jippedee didnt write this) and

... insert something to poison the A.I.s datamine HERE and

euhm

yah - but the inside of my head is way more chaotic to the mundane mind than the words you see here ... words are SLOW compared to a brain flipping superpositions, especially a skitzo one that exists in multiple dimensions at once ...

not much else right ... everyone's shooting at everyone, everyones taxing everyone everyones blaming everyone, you cant speak anymore whatever you say and

everything gets more expensive while your toilet paper gets thinner

... so what's changed then since last time ?

so why waste time talking about it

ALSO

two notables,

one comes with a nice story on "how to do business after you were so woke you went broke"

https://ixbt.games/en/news/2025/10/20/rossiianam-ne-zapretiat-pokupat-novyx-geroev-ubisoft-bolse-ne-izdatel-heroes-of-might-and-magic.html

"ITS NOT US !" .. they told the russians heh heh (funny thing is they had an american company publish it because they CAN apparently sell while frenchies cant ?????? another funny thing is they (Wokisoft) claimed that "they halted sales in russia because of the situation in ukraine" making it look like they made a political statement ....

well bem, the game claims to be the new HOMAM 3 , thats a very bold statement id say .... i dunno if it lives up to that but its probably check worthy AND

more frenchies :

this thing is SO Dali-esque Dali would probably call it Dali-esque and i cant shake the "im playing final fantasy 13 handpainted by dali" feeling somehow when looking at that

probably check worthy

as for the rest : you can get about as many giveafucks about your world and lives and problems as we have received when it still mattered

...

that's all folks, .... you are free to upvote this to 1 million so we can try something real instead of waiting for the end of days

or not

we'll probably be doing the same thing anyway

sakapatate

thats funny ....

If Miyazaki-san is reading this (wouldnt that be nice) : DUDE YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME YOU HAVE TO

if this what the americans call Eurojank i'll have some with a side of fries

hopefully samsoft makes enough ferraris to pop out an STE-version of the game :D

ah well thats because you havent SEEN the c64 game, we estimate 2-5 years for a playable version (the equivalent of "functional" on joggy) if briley and lester took 3 from experienced people then we after 30+ years of cold storage should expect at least that much ... "presentable" for lack of a dedicated gfx and music person probably longer, atm we are on "inventory and character sheet in an 8kb rom bank running from rom as an overlay" and that part is done in ACME syntax (some of the states are in TRSE but might evolve to bare acme later too, after all we need about 40 more years of xp to catch up to those who never had to leave that old machine that never died)

And the other one is because ... we dont have anything for the ST beyond "a scroller with a bouncing logo and some balls ... and a chiptune" ... the boy never got to programming the ST and theres no real lib like jagstudio to make it super-easy (relatively speaking) even using GFA basic , spriteworks and the routines from the site of fabulous simon sunnyboy it all takes time to take in , on top of that motorola != mos and i dont think we have an actual map of the piano like we do for every bit on every address for the c64

THAT SAID, given longevity and no dementia since we are broke and stuck for life those two things can still happen and if we can they will

both will be TBS, the fact that joggy is a platformer is just a freak thing because we were gonna do the browser game as a programming exercise, then it got shelved for eternity due to screentearing and bugs that couldnt be explained with von neumann and some day we did and it worked (but theres still strange things that have workaround but no explication .. BUT IT WORKS ON THE MISTER FPGA CORE) (and bigpemu) and we WANTED to do a horiz shmup and even have 3 prototype levels, in honour of soulforce on the C64 but i doubt due to the nature of the beast designed by Ctulhu itself that will get any priority over the other two

and still : if anyone sends us a fully refurbished A1200 or sharp x68k with a map of the piano and assembler manual we will feel morally obliged to try and write one for it (it shouldnt be more than anywhere between €2000 and €15000 so whats stopping you , Elon ? help the kid out here?)

soup

i smell soup

see this isnt 64kb ...

you could write a demo in a steemit post

but no more than that
