I built a free secure link generator that does more than shorten URLs. Looking for feedback.

Hi everyone,

I recently launched a free web tool called "VeryDRM Free Secure Link Generator".

https://verydrm.com/r/

I noticed that most free URL shorteners only create shorter links. If someone gets the link, they can usually share it with anyone else.

So I built something that lets you add a few simple controls without creating an account.

Current features:

  • Short URLs
  • Optional password protection
  • Link expiration (10 minutes to 2 years, or never expire)
  • Optional click limits
  • Basic click tracking
  • HTTPS links
  • Completely free

Some examples where I've found it useful:

  • Sending private PDF documents
  • Sharing Google Drive or Dropbox links
  • Sending software download links
  • Sharing online course materials
  • Temporary client downloads
  • Internal company documents

Example:

https://verydrm.com/r/Ab12Cd
Password: MyProject2026

After the click limit is reached or the expiration date passes, the link automatically stops working.

I'm still improving the service, so I'd really appreciate honest feedback.

If you use URL shorteners regularly:

  • What features are missing?
  • What would make you switch from Bitly or TinyURL?
  • Would you use password-protected short links?

I'd love to hear your suggestions. Thanks!
