The cove walk
Barrier walls are here in New Bedford, MA.
There's also the Cove Walk, which is a nice place to walk, and I go there sometimes, but honestly, I like walking at sunrise on the Harbor Walk better.
The New Bedford Cove Walk is a 5,550-foot-long path that was built in the 1960s.
It's a pet-friendly, paved trail that runs on top of the city's big hurricane barrier.It goes from Clark's Cove, starting at Cove Road and ending at West Rodney French Boulevard.It has great ocean views, sea breezes, and really nice sunset spots for people walking, running, or cycling.But I usually go there at sunrise.
As for being pet-friendly, I often see people walking their dogs there.
But I also see a lot of dogs left behind by the owners, who don’t bother to clean up after them.
One of the best views is near the middle of the walkway.
There's a spot where you can park and get close to the area where I took this picture.There's another good view near the end of the walk, close to Rodney French Boulevard.
